Hello all.
This is going to be my 1st grow, and i was wondering if it would come out health under these conditions
1-125watt red spectrum CFL
1-125watt Blue Spectrum CFL

blue spectrum hanging over 2plants during veg stage with a reflector over it
and the red spectrum hanging vertically with this:
Compact Fluorescent Cord Set with Socket.

and then during flowering stage i would switch the bulbs. i will have mylar in my closet for more reflective material as well.

So basically i am wondering if this will grow 2 healthy plants at a time in a
2x3x10 foot closet. Or if more light is needed.

I was also just wondering this because i couldnt find a place that sold more powerful lights
so is my besy option going to be buy 2 of each of these lights? or will 1 of each do just fine?

dont expect to be growing big plants with them
one 125w will do 2 plants to about 1 foot tall, topping and LST will help.
think about a small HPS for flowering, a 70w HPS puts out about the same as a 125w CFL.
with the size box you have a a small hps shouldnt be a prob.

I have learned this. Keep the lamp close to the plant, and when you get a few pair of leaves, I would actually surround the plant with mylar to help hit every spot.

You will have to extend the mylar as it grows, but it will help thicken it out. Get as much out of your light as you can.

Good news is with only 2 CFL, heat shouldn't be a huge issue. Mylar on the walls is a good idea as well.

ok but basically i would be a whole lot beeter off if i got a 250blue spectrum and a 225 red spectrum for veg and flower stage aand wudnt have to worry about buying extras, right?

eve if you do that i would still think about side lighting because with adequate side lighting you could increase your yield

ah because i don't have much room and i figured a 250blue right over the plants with a reflector around it, and then use that e40 input piece to vertically hang the 250 red spectrum on the side of the plants which would reach it all including lower branches when it gets taller.

especially with the mylar.
If that isn't enough, how would i go about adding more lights?

and how can i get them to all hang in my closet, i went ot local hardware store and didnt see any system that let the lights hang so that i could easily lower and raise them

well i started with just one 20w cfl and now i have 246 in my flowering box and all is going ok

i have

1 x 125w 2700k red envirolite for overhead lighting
1 x 26w for side lighting
3 x 20w also for side lighting
2 x 2ft t8 full spectrum also for extra side lighting

and my plants are loving it

ok do you mind telling me where you purchased these if it was online?

and what do you use to raise and lower the lights?

ok do you know if its safe for them to ship to usa? it shouud be fine right seeing its just lights?

and how about your pulley system to raise lights? how are you working that out?

and my other question is would i have to get a ventilations system or anything for just 2 plants in my closet with a fan on them?

yeh they will ship to the u.s and yeh you will need ventilation as well as a fan for circulation i use 2 12v pc fans and they work nicely

zillu How much are u growing, because the guy who started the thread is doing the same thing im doing. I was going to get a couple Like three 30 watts lights for veg and go pic up the red one laters. i heard u could use emegency blankets as reflectors, cheap $2 at walmart and doesnt' cause hot spots like foil. but yeah if u could get back to me i'd appreciate it so much. i plan on growing maybe two plants.
