Hey everyone, this is my first time growing this wonderful herb. i was wondering if the setup is good. i was thinking of doing a SOG type grow. In the picture the green rectangles are the pots and the yellow circles are 42watt (actual watts) 2700k CFLS. I was thinking this was enough light for 4-5 plants since its about 11200 lumen (2800 lumen per CFL) i would be growing one or two main colas per plant. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this before i invest money into it. i was thinking of vegging the plants until about 4 inches and then go straight into flower, since i dont have enough space to grow 4 big ones
Thanks so much for your help people.

anyone...? also if anyone has had experience with cfls how much would you estimate the yield per plant .. 9g - 15g per plant maybe...?

rule of thumbs is about 100w per plant so you may need more lights and your probably better off getting a bunch of 23w instead you can get a three maybe even a six pack for the same price as 1 42w...just a thought...

If i read correctly, 4-42w for 4-5 plants?
You should be able to grow some nice
leaves, stems, and a few popcorn buds.
Seriously, you need way more light than that.
That would be a good start for seedlings.
Once they grow more than12" tall your
lights will not penetrate the canopy.
You'll have 4-5 ok buds, the ones closest
to the lights the rest won't be worth trying to trim.

Unless you add a lot of side lighting later on,
you're going to invest months of work
only to be disappointed at the end results.

Don't get me wrong, CFLs can grow some
nice dense buds, but 4 for 4-5 plants
will not give you these type of plants.
3-4 surrounding each plant might do it though.
The method is sound, more realistic with HID though.
Good luck with the setup
