no the a/c is not a wall unit. it is an actual portable a/c unit. has a flexable exhaust hose off the back so i can move it anywhere i want as long as i vent the exhaust out of the room. was also thinking of just putting my portable a/c in my spare room, and have it run at like 70 then just suck that air through my intake. once i get my exhaust fan, i will set up a trail run and see how the temps are...

Your intake holes should belarger than the exhaust hole. Use the formula previously provided to determine the cfm needed.
Peace

ok so i think i understand. like i said i am going to start with a 400hps, then plan on upgrading in the future to a 600. should i go ahead and get a fan big enough to support both lights. was thinking of going with a 465cfm Squirrel-Cage Fan. would this be enough air? i am also going to have an intake somehwere along the bottom. does the intake need a fan also, or just a hole? how big do

If I Have 120 Cf, Would A 440 Cfm Inline Be Too Much? I'm New To This Ventilation Thing, So Please Bare With Me. I Was Thinking Of Getting A Can 33 Carbon Filter And It Says Max Cfm Is 200. What Fan Would Suit Me Best?

hey, video, let me ask ... where'd you get that formula, in particular the "3.2" factor?

Do you know that an AC unit either window or portable does not pull in air from the outside? It actually just cools and recirculates your inside air.

An AC has 2 sides to it the condenser, or hot side which is on or goes to the outside and the evaporator side which pulls air from the room, cools it through the evaporator coils, then discharges it back to the inside of the room.

Yes I Totaly Understand That, That Is Why I Am Going To An Exhaust Fan And Also An Intake...my A/c Will Be Totally Separted In Another Room And I Will Pull Air Into My Grow Area. Thanks For The Tip. Not Sure About Video's Forumla Either. Still Confused As To What Size Of Fan To Buy. Anyone Have Suggestions? My Cf Is Around 110 Cf...and I Want To Use A Carbon Filter Should I Go With Can 33 Or Can 50?

Well After A Little Research And Picking The Brains Of Some Forum Members..i'm Gonna Go With The 440cfm Inline Exhaust Fan And A 6" Carbon Filter (can 50 Carbon Filter) Once Electricyity Is Figured Out Lights Will Be Installed And A New Update Will Be On Its Way..let Me Know If You Guys Think I Have Left Anything Out. Oh Also Do I Need An Intake Fan Or Would A Hole Be Good Enough? Is There Anything I Can Do To Block Light From Coming Out Of This Hole But Still Allowing Air To Enter?

VideoMan,

Summer time is coming and I am sure we are going to have a flood of heat threads. I am starting to run into heat issues also. I am at +35c in the afternoons. I know my problem. Not enough intake holes. I will adjust this weekend. At this point, the plant which is flowering is enjoying the heat, but I need to get it under control soon. Today it is only +26. By summer it could be +35 outside the box.
