I can’t run that. I would have to have my closet door open and run that over and across the wall to the vent.

True. I wouldn’t rely on that for cooling your area. For example. Your apartment is 78*F and just so happens so is your tent; and you want to drop the temps down to let’s say 72*F. Your main living space will hit that temp much quicker than your closet space. And assuming your thermostat is in main living area in a hallway probably. It will kick the system off before the closet tent area reaches a desired lower temp
figure out which light you want to go with and you can determine the BTU/h it puts off just from being on. That could give a better idea as to how much cooling you need
I know you’re asking about venting but also adding that up there too..
where you planning on running exhaust duct to outside or another part of apt?

I’m a complete rookie with this so bear with me.. my plan is to grow inside of the closet located adjacent to my bathroom. I selected this location because I can keep it dark, it’s discreet, and it’s cooler than the rest of my apartment. I didn’t realize that the heat from my tent must be blown out and cool air brought in. I thought that the carbon filter, fan, and light can be inside the tent together and the duct can be attached to the hole on the side of the tent and the air can get blown out that way. I figured since 60f closet would be good enough to keep my temp down. I should have asked how to bring in cool Air and vent the hot air out inside of my closet.

You could just double-filter the exhaust? Put a filter inside the tent on the intake side, and another oversized filter literally sitting on the roof of the tent? Got a 4" fan? Get a 6" filter for the exhaust end and use a 4" to 6" flange to attach it.

Im getting a 6” fan. So exhausting the air from the tent into another carbon filter outside of the tent would work to keep the temp down and rid the tent of hot air?

Gonna be hard in that tent with those lights. The height and width are gonna be restricted. Would advise using LED with that height restriction If you do go with the HID lights gonna have to be air cooled and then your venting situation just got more complicated. I mean you CAN. make it work but your really gonna have your work cut out for you getting everything set

It will help rid the tent of hot air and will be a little extra added insurance on keeping the smell at bay. OK so get a cheap 8" filter and a 6-to-8 flange which you can snag at home depot. Don't use the pre-filter sock on this one but still use one on the filter inside the tent

You don’t have to bring in cold air necessarily. Usual ambient air temps in your living space are usually fine in smaller set ups. (65-72*F) Ideally though you’d want to bring “fresh” “cooler air” (from your house) into tent and then the air from your tent is exhausted outside of said closet.

That’s what I want to achieve. Don’t think I can do that in my closet since I can’t bring in cool air or exhaust the tent.

Well I’ll assume you don’t want to cut any holes in your walls (can be patched, spackled and painted if your handy when moving out) but you can use the ports of the tent to have a supply duct and another doing exhaust. Both with lengths of ducting kinda like arms coming out of the tent One sucking air from somewhere in your room and other I’d try to put as far away from tent and intake air
Can also assume you won’t want ducting running about your apt too tho.. so not too sure If you’re in a new built construction and your walls are 1/2” drywall (maybe 5/8”) cause your in an apt. Cutting holes and putting faux duct covers on them will hide to untrained person in your living space

You should just go for it!! This temp seems pretty cool for input. And if you use LEDs you can run a little hotter leaf temp than normal.
I think you should duct into the tent directly on top from your AC. Then vent out the bottom. You'll probably need a dehumidifier, too.

yeah don’t let this one limiting factor stop you. Set it up and see what happens once stuffs running. IME battling temps is annoying to balance but one of the easier things to do/manage. I’m currently set up in an uninsulated garage I use the heat from my lamp (autos, 24h on) and a 200w heater on an ink bird for the winter Not sure what spring and summer will bring me yet haven’t set up an AC but most likely will

Are you having to be stealth like roommates ? If you're not having to worry too much about it I think you could get away with leaving the tent doors and room open and maybe throwing up a tension rod and a black out curtain if you need to. If people come you can close things up for short periods without having to worry too much. Not an ideal situation but I started growing in apartments so I understand not being able to modify the room too much and you're only taking about one plant so I think you could swing it. Ya that smaller LED will be better for u

I found this next to the outlet in the closet.. cool air blowing out of both holes. Wiring inside the wall. Fire hazard?

Did you remove a double gang blank cover like the one above it to expose that hole? The black wire looks like coax wire (cable, not 110/120/240v etc) I do see what looks like another wire though. More pics?
If it’s existing there and you just took a cover off then it’s probably just an extra hole/junction they did while building/renovating your apt.
looks like it’s a double gang box for cable/internet hook up. Could have just been the spot old wire was in and your building is updated to fiber optic.

Yeah it’s a coax cable. Those are the only two holes in the entire closet.
