Nice setup and good luck on your grow. T5's seem to really be coming into there own with growing. I was readin a thread somewhere where they were talking about about using aquarium bulbs for better results by some guy called the professor who's based at of Oxford or something. If i find the thread will send you a link. I think he was using a T8 system too. Oh it had something to do with matching the LED spectrums but using like 5 different spectrum bulbs and his results looked good.

Get some dianthias earth (sp) Little white powder made from rocks. make a thin layer over the soil and its like razors for the gnats

I actually have something like that, but wouldn't the larvae just eat the roots because they couldn't come out the soil? I've been told many things, never really had this issue...Now they are EVERYWHERE!!! The Organocide kills them but they come back x5 everytime.

The guy payed $20+ for each bulb. That's why his growth rate was so high. Standard 6500k or 2700k bulbs emit other light that is useless for the plant, he is using aquarium coral bulbs, considering coral is a plant, it makes them perfect for his application. Especially since each bulb ONLY emits light that the plants need, unlike regular T5's that are included when buying a fixture.. Read it. It's a damn good thread, it made me want to go T5 but the only way I truely wanted to was if I used Actinic bulbs, and I'm not paying $80 - $100 for a 2ft - 4ft 4 lamp fixture and another $80 on 4 lamps for it. That's madness imo haha.

nope, the larva turn into nats as soon as they hatch and once they try to break the soil they hit razors, works for me, i'd fill up yellow sticky traps with literally hundreds threw some Diantias earth on there a few days after i watered and never saw they little bastards again

I actually did that and turned out great, thank you saved me $20. How much should I be watering these, they get a gallon a week between is that enough? Only get a week of growth a week, what am I doing wrong? My od is doing way better.
