Cloud line t series vs a series

I acquired a new 4x8x6.7’ ac infinity tent and plan to use it as my flower tent and want great exhaust for this. A bit overkill is ok. I just don’t want any smell. I’m venting a straight shot out a basement window with maybe one 45 bend and a total duct length of maybe 3-4’

I’m considering the ac infinity cloud line series. Either the T8 (807 cfm) or S8(807 cfm). I’m planning to pair this with the ac infinity 8 inch 770cfm charcoal filter.

I figured on the T series but then read this:

*Please Note - The Controller included with AC Infinity Cloudline T-Series Fans does not have an "Idle" speed setting, the fans turns off completely when the desired Temp/RH parameters are met. The Controller 67 does have an "idle" setting, customers who want the fan to stay engaged at all times may be better off to purchase a Cloudline S-Series fan and seperate Controller 67.”

anyone have thoughts? Anyone with experience with either the T or S series? Is Idle setting crucial??

Does this fan/filter combo seem decent to exhaust a 4x8 flower tent??

I could be wrong on this but i think you need a T to run an S on controller not positive but thinking S doesn’t work alone on 67 again i may be mistaken

The T-series now come with the controller 67 and it has a lot more than just idle speed. You could spend the extra $40 on a T8 to get the controller 67, but I'd get the S8 and their new controller 69 with wi-fi for $69. But I'm a control freak.

BTW, there's a leaf symbol on the right button of the old temp/humidity control and a settings/gear symbol on the 67, it's the only visual difference I know of.

Nope. The S is just a speed control, the smart controllers do that and much more.

Right but can an S series run on 67 or 69 by itself or does it need a t series in the loop?

S-series is a fan with a speed control.
T-series are fans that came with the temp/humidity controller and now come with the 67. The temp/humidity, 67 and 69 can replace the speed control.

Great idea. I’m torn between the two fan/controller options atm. I’ll see if anyone else chimes in.

*** also, is it ok to pair a 807cfm fan with a 770cfm filter? I know these fans can be dialed down but don’t you generally want a higher cfm filter than fan so that the fan isn’t blasting air too quickly for the filter to clean it?

after chatting with a rep I’ve decided to go with what was suggested in this post. I’m going with the S8 fan with the 8” filter and I’ll pick up the wifi 69 controller once it comes out. The wifi version has not yet been released. Thanks everyone!

Yeah I was gonna say just get the S with cheap control then when the wifi control comes out get that. I believe I'll order the wifi control when it drops.

I read some comments somewhere, some people said that AC Infinity carbon filters are not that good comparing to other brands. I can't confirm but i wouldn't be surprised since they specialize mainly in ventilation and their exhaust fan is their main product. It's worth keeping in mind if you are worried about smell. You might take a look at other carbon filters like Phresh, Mountain Air, Rhino etc.

And yes, the idle setting is crucial. That feature was needed from the start, i was disappointed when i found out the older models turn off completely.
You want to have a constant airflow so no smell is leaking, only increasing the fan speed when needed.

I use a T6 and an S6 have used the basic controller, the digital controller and the 67. The 67 allows for good adjustability, a chosen idle speed and a good amount of control over transitions.

That said, I'll be getting the Controller 69 once it becomes available> in that controller they've addressed pretty much all off the 'wish list' items I sent to their engineering team.
