Yeah Blazin I'm on the east coast. If the Wv in ur name is what I think it is then I'm east of u about a couple hrs drive. So we are getting about 13 hrs like you. I was wondering beings I'm going into like week 4 or 5. Do I still need 12 hrs of complete darkness.?? And if so I can't leave them outside because it's still light at 8:00 pm. And it gets light around 6:30 am.
I do believe from what I've gathered I'm also in same general area my girls r gettin 12:52 dark now and my indica is starting to rly hit her stride while my big mama sativa is just gettin into the act I'm estimating 1st/2nd week October on indica quite a while on sativa both bagseed I stashed from past cpl yrs finally had enuf time this spring to spare that I could give it a proper try
First time I've went seed to harvest outdoors always been more of a indoor clone guy myself

I have a few gardens spread out in the same general area and growing the same strains in each (Guerilla style) .. but the plants in one of the gardens seem to be a few weeks ahead of all the others. They're on the same feeding schedule and everything. The only thing that I can think of is maybe they're getting more or possibly less sunlight than the other plots. I switched it up this season and changed the locations of my gardens and it was a pain in the ass trying to figure out the app that I used to calculate how much sunlight my plants would get daily.
How much daylight are you getting daily at this point? We're down to like 12 hrs 55 mins right now.
Down here in the tropic, we get regular 12/12 schedules all year round, days don't get that longer or shorter. It's been a weird year tho' :eyesmoke:

Lol.. I knew that. I don't know what the hell I was thinking last night.
For me, this year has been crazy. We've had twice as much rain, high humidity since the spring, and I've been battling slugs since the start of this season.. I've never had slugs infest anything that I've grown and nothing works to kill them off. I've tried sevin, pyrethrins, neem, and even slug pellets. They haven't affected much but they're annoying as all hell.
What has been different with your season?

Last year was like that here, humidity and a bug fest. This year is much more drier, had the chance to finish indicas without any mould incident for the first time in my new location. Still a bugfest tho'

No.. its different outdoors. The plants sense that the days are getting shorter after the summer solstice and begin to flower. Its not a quick subtle change.. like changing your timer.
The 12/12 light schedule indoor is use because indicas normally start to flower with less than14 hours of light and sativas start to flower with less that 13 hours of light.. (I think.. I don't normally grow sativas out because I need a quicker finish and prefer the couch lock high).
I hope this makes some sort of sense.. lol. I haven't had a day off in over two weeks and have to tend to my gardens at night. Needless to say, my communication skills are non-existent at this point.

I don't think that the sativas that I'm running are going to have time to finish. They've only been flowering for like a week.. They were the HSH freebies from Herbie's so I'm not too worried about it. What sucks is that the are HUGE!
I love growing outdoors. No real limits on how big they can grow and great yields.. I'm hoping to start growing indoors again this fall/winter... which would be great for next outdoor season because I could start them much earlier.

Hey got a question. My son turned the ceiling fan light on last night and my girls are in like week 4-5 of flower. It was only on for like 3 seconds until I turned it off real quick. Will they be ok ??? And if not what should I expect .??

Went up today to check in on girls and noticed my indica is gettin a quite strong smell of coffee/diesel fuel any clue to possible strain?
Was just seed out of bag from cpl yrs back that I had saved but after slightly squeezing bud get a very piney scent
Sativa still not much of a smell at all
Any guesses?
May not be enuf to know but interested to c what kind of thoughts u guys have on possible strain

Also no spray I've tried has worked to stop these bastard bugs on this girl but haven't rly bothered sativa
Tried bt also tried neem oil nothing has stopped em from munching on leaves so far

Done a lil research and from what I've seen narrowed down to a few possibilities that I know I've had in time frame seeds came from...sour diesel, bubba kush, and possibly og kush locally grown by ol head I know
Who seems to think it's def og from dropping by for a look 2 days ago
But I know with bagseed it's kind of a crap shoot unless u keep it labeled and kno for 100% where it came from

A source from Harvard University :

Several studies suggest that reflection off the sides of cumulus clouds is one mechanism by which UV radiation can become enhanced. Also refraction and scattering of direct and diffuse radiation could result in markedly increased enhancement. Thus cloud conditions that include cirrus clouds thin enough not to completely obscure the solar disk, along with lower-altitude cumulus clouds, may lead to the perfect UV storm.

I remember my dad getting 3rd degree sun burns on a super cloudy day back in early 2000s. Clouds may enhance the UV radiation that plants love. Pretty cool science
