Hey Duchie, definitely leave your seed for a few weeks at least. I have tried early germs on freshly plucked seeds and they just turn black in the soil. I also just put my beans directly into soil. When you think logically about a seeds life. It is in a bud, it will either fall to the ground when the bud starts to dry out and rot as the plant in nature dies in the winter month, or it may even be munched by a lucky passing bird. The seed will then be dropped into the ground and sit there all winter and wait for the early spring sun to start heating the ground and also germinating the seed. If we didn't use out plants to create hash I would use mine as repeat compost as in my experience you plant a seed in with some mulch from a hash run and you are going to get one of the strongest plants ever...Oscar garbage bag was the perfect example of such a plant, growing without help in a garbage bag full of old roots and soil and mulch from a hash run!
ML, so is it temps that are still doing you in?
