Clipper lighters are great! Now available in mini and have some great new colours. Neon, pastel, transparent, block colors. Loads of printed ones too and all are refillable.

The barrel comes out and you can change the flint. Many years ago they were made into stash lighters to take ecstasy pills into raves.

I can't uploads pictures on this phone but Google must have clipper lighters.
I hav a couple

It's because Bic is one of the few companies that uses a METAL lever to lift the valve that releases gas, and most cheap disposable lighters use a flimsy plastic lever that wears out after a few hundred lights....Bic's claim to fame was always "3000 lights strong", meaning they designed it with the intention of being able to get at least 3000 lights out of it...Try that with a cheapo knockoff...

Not to mention that their design limits airflow into the chamber so the flame stays around 500degrees, which helps their lighters not to destroy themselves with use, and produces that perfect bic shaped flame every time!

Ok, not a Bic lighter, but those of you who enjoy the taste of naphtha may enjoy the Beattie Jet lighter. It's a lot like a Zippo with the addition of a brass tube that curves from the reservoir to the "fire cage". The tube has a small aperture at the end. Wh en you light the lighter, you may tilt it so that the flame hits the tube. This jets the fluid in the tube and a four inch flame shoots out of the end. It was meant to light pipes. It does a damn fine job of it too. But it was taken off the market in the 60s or so. They used to very very very scarce. Then eBay happened. Probably 20 bucks now.

Yeah, the lighter fluid taste is a bit much but the design is rather amazing. Get one! Make it an heirloom. Burn your friends.
