co2 yeast and sugar?

As the title says, does mixing yeast and sugar really work for a cheap co2 fix? Any awesome stories about benefits? How long does it work, if it works at all? Is it a waste of time? Just curious. I made it this way once like a 10 years ago, I'm not sure if it worked or not

yeah it works 100%. use active bread yeast and cane sugar. for a 5 gal bucket use 1tbs of yeast to 2lbs of sugar. it will last for about 2 weeks. After this two weeks it will be about 10% alcohol and you could distil it if you want :)

Sounds messy , just to get some Co2 on the plants you have kilos of sugar/yeast/water in the grow room, no.

Really not worth the time at present there are 5 companies that offer CO2 bags (one even has one for Veg stage and flower stage) IT you want names let know

Take your 5 gallon bucket. Add an air pump with the tube suspended in the open air at the top of the five gallon bucket. Create outtake port. Seal unit. Now you have pressurized co2. Sealed unit will keep pressure in and bugs out. Don't put air pump tube in water as yeast will not produce co2 in too much oxygen. :peace:

Not worth the time or effort. The amount of added CO2 you get from this method will not effect the yield enough to offset the price of the sugar and yeast. The only time I recommend looking into added CO2 is when someone is running a large commercial grow operation, and in that case I would recommend investing into a CO2 generator.

Awesome info, thanks guys, maybe I'll look into tanks if its cheaper in the long run, Ill give a diy setup for soon just to see what happens, the sealed presurized method sounds pretty good

CO2 is one of the cheapest gases out their , I have a 100 gallon tank it costs me 80.0$ to get refilled , delivered . and it's food grade , normal gas will be cheaper.

Check out resturants going out of buisness sales / IRS auctions . Their are some great deals to be had

i agree been down this road and its messy a wast of ur time and also a wast of money and after a wile it makes ya room smell funky
