robins and malocan's tests had similar resultsThat's pretty convincing.

I am currently using 4 LC040B with couple monos...What about Samsung COBs?
HOLY commercial setup BatmanJust ordered 250x Citizen CLU046-1212 units. 180 for flower (3500k), 30 for veg (5000k) and 40 more (3500k) to play with side lighting
Gonna have some fun with these things
@Will Thayer helped me out on sourcing. At £2.20 each after delivery and considering I already have suitable Meanwell HLG-600h drivers I had to jump on them. Thanks a lot!
Bahahaha!!HOLY commercial setup Batman
250 COBs is a great score & ur gunna need a bigger Loft

Holy shit this will be great to see. How are you gonna be mounting these 180 1212's?Bahahaha!!
Now I've completed a grow I plan on experimenting
I'm going to run 90x water cooled CLU046 COBs at 20w (36V @ 0.55A) each per 8x4 area. So 900w per 4x4... at around 1300 PPFD (may or may not be a little higher because I'm water cooling and so COB temps shouldn't be as high).
That is top lighting.
Then I'm going to add 8x CLU046 COBs at 20w each passively cooled as side lighting per 4x4 (2 COBs from each corner). That should give me an extra 270 PPFD under the canopy.
I wonder how much I could grow per 4x4?
I was planning on doing a Cree CXB upgrade which would have cost several thousand £££ but the Citizens make it sensible to just go ahead and do it now
i cant wait to see that setup.Bahahaha!!

Minimal difference. What do ppl here feel about 90 cri vs 80 cri in 3500K for flowering?
119lm/w 80 CRI vs 144 lm/w for 80 CRI in the 3500K CLU046-1212Minimal difference.
Ill check it out right now@bassman999 check out the last couple papers of my journal. I did a CRI test, including lab results. Sorry it was so well hidden, but no time for multiple threads, let along one
I just dont know what is better more total light or more light in the precise spectrumsThat's a significant difference. Wow.
A dollop of thermal glue... and tada! Worked perfectly for my current setup. The alternative would be kapton tape and thermal paste which is probably more fragile but would cool marginally better. Mounting COBs onto water blocks in any other way is difficult. You can't screw into a water block...Holy shit this will be great to see. How are you gonna be mounting these 180 1212's?
I will try. At the very least there will be pics of the finished setup.i cant wait to see that setup.
Are u gunna do a journal

Wait... so you're gonna be using those like 2"x5" water blocks? That's gonna be a fuck load of gluing and water blocks. I'm very interested in how this is going to even work. When will it be complete?A dollop of thermal glue... and tada! Worked perfectly for my current setup. I've ordered the bits tonight to make some improvements on my previous efforts. Should have it all in my hands this week (touch wood). Maybe I'll have 30x COBs on a 600w driver done by next weekend as a prototype? Maybe I won't. If I didn't have a day job I could probably have the whole setup complete in a week. Who knows? Not me!Wait... so you're gonna be using those like 2"x5" water blocks? That's gonna be a fuck load of gluing and water blocks. I'm very interested in how this is going to even work.
