Experiment to dry Coco quickly ,,,

Raised Room fan higher so that I can point the fan down from above . Theory , in order to dry Coco Coir after watering , the fan air needs to point somewhat downward so that the fast airstream hits the top of the medium . Blowing the plants around with sideways wind will not dry the soil out enough . I just started my experiment starting now . I will try and if fail I will raise the fan higher until the fan air is more directed even more down , If I have to I will connect the fan directly over the plants and blow air staight down ,

One way or the other , the will get data on how long it takes to dry out the Coco Coir , depending on the angle of the air blowing onto the medium surface . For sure I have already learned that blowing air sideways into the plants does not dry out the coco coir ,

Good luck with the experiment. Are you basing it around the idea that more frequent feedings gives better growth? If so, not sure this would be that helpful since it's just evaporating the liquid rather than the plant using that nutrient solution and having it constantly be replenished. I would think this would just result in additional buildup in the medium, though maybe not if you are watering to excess and flushing. Knowing how quickly it would dry out could be useful if you do something like use way too big of a container or something and it winds up water logged or whatever.

you want some dryback during bloom period but your fan must never point to pots
established plants transpiring will dry out the coco
you dont want to dry it with your fans, all you will do is concentrate salts in the coco and burn your plants

I have a lot of air blowing around my smart pots, it certainly increases evaporation, but I haven't needed to increase my fertigations because of it. 3 gallon pots still need a minimum of 2 feedings per day, though 3 would be better-I have no idea what "ideal" would even look like, 5-6? 2 feedings per day is producing the results I'm going for right now. Air circulation under the canopy is probably more important than above, simply for fungal prevention.
