I use a recirculating drip with House and Garden Coco nutesSubbed. Just started my first run with Coco. Had some problems within the first week of transplant but they're picking up now.
I've been handwatering but have been looking into setting up a drip to waste system. Anyone have any recs for DTW systems? Are blumats the way to go?
Its a good coco brand, as is Hydro farm, Empire is another good one or Canna. Just remember to wash the shit out of your Coco that shit comes with a bunch of salt from the manufacturer. I precharge my coco chips with Liquid Karma and Cal Mag so I dont have to add any during my grow.Has any one tried the Roots Organic Coco fiber hydroponic mix im making a decision by tomarrow and need to know whats the ph like and should i prerinse the mix?? any info wold be appreciated and a + rep thanks guys and gals!
well its says on the bag: Roots Organics Coco Soilless MixA unique formulation of the highest quality coco fiber/Coir on the planet which is repeatedly washed for an incredibly low EC, composted for over twenty-four months, and specially blended with extra long fibers, perlite, and pumice. Lightly amended with a starter charge of organic fertilizers like bat guano, worm castings and kelp, this mix is designed for heavy feeding and high performance in container or hydroponic applications. Coco fiber is a great medium and an excellent replacement for peat moss; it is an environmentally friendly by product, pH stable within the ideal range for nutrient uptake, and because the Lignin content is slow to decompose. Roots Organics Coco soilless mix was created for the gardener who demands higher performance from their plants. Do I have to still wash it with all the starter stuff in it??? Thanks for the help!
I dont use the coco coir like you are using I use the "coco chips" like croutons big chunks and they retain water very well. No you can use coco nutes. I like to use coco chips because if you work with coco coir using a recurculating system you will get clogged up and what not. I dont ever add cal mag during my grow I take care of that by pre charging my coco with Botanicare's Liquid Karma 10/ML per gallon and GH Organic Cal/Mag 5/Ml per gallon and let that soak over night. No need to flush the canna before use its all done for you, actually you can fuck up the buffers by doin it!
@beaver how do you get on usin the coco nutes in a recurculatin system mate?................i thought you would have to use hydro nutes, ive been lookin into doin it with canna in a waterfarm but thought id have to change to there aqua nutes or hydro and use pebbles
Do you get probs with deffs? i would have thought once the coco nutes have been throught the coco a few times your gunna end up with vital things missin from the mix, also coco sucks cal from the nutes so do you have to use more then normal?
thanks
Do you use flood and drain? That's sweet, you would think the ca/mag would rinse out eventually.I dont use the coco coir like you are using I use the "coco chips" like croutons big chunks and they retain water very well. I get no deficiencies using House and Garden nutes and my pre charge method.

never seen Coco at Lowesthey sell coco at lowes in a brick. Anyone ever tried that? its only 2.50 and says it makes 8 quarts worth. Think the name brand was brenners?????? Can anyone tell me what are some nuets I can get in california to use with it?
I saw it in the outdoors section next to the jiffy pot stuff. They looked like the size of a real brick with plactic wraped around it. Is 2.50 a good price? Also im thinking about just going to roots organic which is basically coco with some nuets in it. Would that have enough food for a 12/12 grow in a 2 gallon pot? My grow right now with fox farm ocean forest sucks. There is so many nuets in there from the factory it burns the shit out of the plants and you can not even give it any of your own nuets or it frys the leaves. Thats stuff is too powerfull! Del, how does that bubblebomb smoke? I know it gets huge but hows the effects? You should sell those seeds to the attitude so we can buy some. Id love to grow that stuff if its good.never seen Coco at Lowes
