COCO ISSUES!!

Hello,
I am new to coco growing and have begun my grow in ez pyramid, I put that pyramid into 10gallon coco Geo pots about 5-6 weeks ago.

The entire time I have been growing these plants I have had some strang yellowing on the leaves as well as twisting at the new growth tops.

I have 60 plants and a bunch of different strains because we popped a bunch of seeds we had gotten for free.

Some of these plants are nice and green and growing well but about 40% of them have this yellowing.

I’m running under mixed spectrum light, 78degrees air temp
68% humidity
Ph 5.8-5.9 (for feed)
PPM 1100
I feed once pots begin to feel lighter but not dry.
I’m useing cultured solutions nutrients and following they’re feed chart.

Anyone have any suggestions for coco?

I grow in current culture buckets in my down stairs rooms and I have nice green growth.

These are images from today on numerous plants all look to have similar symptoms.

It does look magnesium, and a little bit calcium deficient. I'm betting it isn't with 1100 ppm though.

Some questions about the plants and feed-

How old are they? Size?
Npk%??
Calcium + magnesium%??
What's the ec and ph of your waste?
Are you letting the ph of your coir rise?
Schedule? Daily feeding? What's your feeding routine roughly?


Need all info about npk + supplements and their %'s
Info about your waste more importantly. Ph and ec's

The plants are 4 months old now, 5.5 - 6 feet tall. Grown from seed.

The EC of my run off water is 1100 exactly and a Ph of 6.5.

I feed them at 1100 and ph of 5.8 usually.

I am feeding the plants 1x a day as the pot is rather large, I’m running “mo koko” brand coco with grow stones mixed in at 25%.

I cut clones off them approx 3 weeks ago so they got a flush with 1/2 strength nutes at that time and then back to 1100.

They haven’t received any lower nutes since than.


If you would be so kind to point me in the direction to know how to equate % ratios for N-P-K ? I would gladly get you those numbers

I’m using 8ml per gallon cocoCal / 7ml per gallon VegA / 7ml per gallon VegB of cultures solutions right now.

Cococal- 2-0-0
VegA 5-0-0.3
VegB 3.7-0-3

I am following the current culture feed scheduale as it says accept the fact that my calmag is on the high side of they’re scale as I thought it looks calmag deficient.

Coir is my favorite medium.
I find it highly unlikely they're deficient. Especially since you're supplementing calmag too.

I'm sorry. But I'm not going to do the digging for your nutrients analysis myself. You need to say what it is.

If you add the npk together it gives you a total. Just remember that changes for your mix depending on how much of each you dose.

In your case. At a standard dose, your total npk is
10.7 - 0 - 3.3. Is this definitely the only nutrients you're feeding ATM?? No other supplements etc? Nothing at all?

It's concerning to me. You have a lot of nitrogen in your npk. No phosphorus (any phosphates?). Barely any potassium.

You have well developed plants. They need a balanced npk.
Do you have any bloom nutrients?

I'm 99% certain your symptoms are pk deficiency related. Need a little more info.


If you do have bloom nutrients. What's the npk on those??
If you don't have bloom nutes. Do you have a pk booster? What's the npk on that one??
 
Not to but in to the current help your receiving but..
Your running cocoCal at 8ml per gal when recommended dose is 3.5-7 ml . Most people don't need to run nutrients at full strength.

Are you using RO water or tap?
 
No additives at this time, when they were little babies I did use green planet Aussie tonic but I turned away from it immediately and changed to B52 as a Bvitamin (but I haven’t used it yet)

I have numerous products for the cultured solutions line, they just say to use these 3 in veg so I have been following that, I will send all of the npk on each bottle.

Bloom A 3.7 - 0 - 3
Bloom B 0.9 - 4.8. - 6.2
Bud booster early 1 - 3.7 - 2.6
Bud booster mid 0 - 4.5 - 4.8
Bud booster late 1 - 40 - 22 (powder)


This is a full list of cultured solutions and I have each one, this will be my first grow with them in RDwC as well as coco.
 
I run RO water that comes out at 1-4ppm.

The reason I was running coco cal at a higher dose was due to the fact it looked like we always had a mag def.

My advice, and what I would do myself.
Only treat the affected ones. If you're unsure, about something, just try it on one plant. See if it works.

I would cut your calmag in half, or even completely.
Change the veg nutrients to your bloom ab.
Cut back on your ppm.
Flush the pot brand new.


If your other plants are healthy. Just leave them alone.
Find what your problem is.
My money is on pk.
A nicely balanced nutrient is what you need, in my opinion.
Something like your bloom ab.

What’s a good NPk ratio to try to achieve for veg?

Sounds like these nutes I bought are trash than? Haha

And is there a formula someone can point me in the direction of for formulating my own NpK ratios?
 
What other food lines work well in RDWC as well as in coco? If anyone has suggestion?

I want to run my RDWC very sterile.

A balanced npk. With slightly more nitrogen than pk.

Your bloom nutes look pretty good to me.

There isn't really an answer. More a case of try and see.
Experiment a little.
Just always go by your npk total. Closely followed by calcium and magnesium.

Any synthetic, balanced, 2 - 3 part nutrient.
