That's coco coir.

You treat coco coir as a hydroponic medium since it does not have any natural nutrition to provide to the plants. With this medium you'll need to manually add in your nutrients or "hand feed" them.

Yea its it like soil perlite and a small amount of coco. Its okay on first sight i saw fungus gnats in it so i didnt use it. I was going to until i saw the larva and gnats

Uch fungus gnats are the bane of my life right now, they didn't bother me too much until I met the larvae. Now I'm bothered! That is my one complaint about coco, all the damn gnats :cuss:

Hey try hypoaspis miles. I had fungus gnats bad once and they took care of them quick and I havnt seen once since. they are badass they eat a few other bugs too. They work better than anything for fungus gnats and springtails

Those fly paper strips will gather them up over time. Use plenty, they're cheap. The gnats live in the top two inches of damp soil. Try watering your plants from the bottom. The top will dry out and the larvae won't survive to pupae stage.

I never thoguht about watering from the bottom.ive used fly traps stick pads and fine sand on the top of the coco. I introduced those hypoaspis miles and they were gone in 2_3 days and i have not seen a single one in weeks. I tried alot of things to rid the fungus gnats. And the springtails. These hypoaspis miles are far superior to any pesticide/trap
