Ran coco before and had awesome growth. recently switched to Promix, and it all changed. My veg didnt look the same anymore. My weight went down, and my plants just werent as green. For those who were wondering which to use. I really reccomend Coco vs Promix HP. For some reason my plants were more stalkier and had great growth vs Promix where it was more lanky. and the stems were more skinner. BUT i think you guys should try yourselves. as this is just an opinion. and i am just posting my experience. For those who have some experience with Coco Vs Promix Please chime in. BUT PLEASE DO NOT CHIME IN IF YOU HAVE NOT TRIED BOTH!!!!!!!!! for your information will doubtfully be useless. because we want the experience of users who have used BOTH!! thx in advance.

Here's picture comparison

I used pro-mix HP, then mixed it with coco and now I am running straight coco. I am liking the straight coco. I find myself getting in trouble when the "coco specific" nutes thinking I don't still have to add more calMag.

What nutes are you running just had the same problem in straight coco using heavy 16. And I've done promix hp with added perlite and earthworm castings then switched to coco.. Cocos deff the way to go a little pricey if your doing a big op compared to promix.

I grow in coco, have for 8 yrs, after 10 yrs in pro- mix.i get better yields, faster growth and transplants take off right away...Use H&G specific nutes R/O water mixed with tap 70/30..growing in coco is more work, but if you are willing to put in the time, you will be rewarded...

See this is why im thinking about going back to one of my older methods for best consitancy, of half organic soil mix and half soiless feeding half strength. I tried this with coco and peat. coco was way better, the organic soil made able hold moisture perfectly, and balance ph.

No need to mix coco. It will stay fluffy no matter what. Personally im more fond of rockwool and perlite as media by themselves than anything, but they require certain parameters to be met, that can be complicated and /or expensive to meet.

I have had better results without the perlite..been there done that...more coco more root space, perlite is just a waste of root space as far as i am concerned,as coco provides lots of air to the root zone....
