Coco vs soil. Why so small??

i have no wish to pramote any such action that , but i was told point blankly, it CANT be done, when it can.. im not offering advise, i was told it CANT be done. oh its not worth it,

According to that post coco should be feed 3-4 times a day too.

Folks you don't have to make this into some sort of science experiment where you try to hit some ideal. People have been growing killer weed feeding coco only once a day, feeding 2 days and plain water the 3rd day, RH of 25%, so on and so forth. KISS and make it easy on yourself. Less is (often) more.

Some people have smaller pots and feed multiple times per day, but those people generally have it automated, so it's no bid deal. I agree though, I use 3 gal pots and typically have to feed once per day, and I like it like that.

Well this debate has been fun but I will leave you all now. To summarize this 7 pages of posts, some feel they should follow the prescribed methods for growing in Coco and some don't. To those who want to take shortcuts and do their own thing I say good luck. Some of you will be fine, others will not. I had a buddy that used to argue that he didn't need to do regular oil changes. His car ran and always got him to work so he felt it was a win. He didn't have to put in the same time, money or effort as everyone else and just figured all those who followed the regular maintenance were suckers. Eventually his car hand grenaded and he had to buy another one. I think the same can be said for going in coco. If you don't want to put in all the effort some do that's cool, you may get there, your plants may hand grenade. I have often wondered why someone would choose a medium like coco, knowing the work involved, yet decide to try and take short cuts. If it were me I would just go with soil which does not have the same requirements but hell, that's just me. To each their own, grow how you want to and reap the benefits from your work. Happy growing everyone no matter how or in what you do it. As long as you are happy than you win.

IMHO, you can't and probably shouldn't follow all these ideals that are set forth in the growing community - you'll go crazy. We don't grow in labs, we aren't scientists conducting scientific experiments, etc. Even the big commercial grows have a lot variables and you have to adapt. Just follow a simple plan. For me I prefer to fed heavy and then use water to save time. It's kinda like the Lucas formula without the recirculating water/reservoir. I used the Captain's formula I linked, but I cut my work by ~70% by using higher nute concentrations in fewer feedings. Cut out weekly flushes too and I used to swear by flushing.

No you claimed plain water between feeds to prevent "toxic nute build up". You are just wrong, go back to your soil cave.

I start in 1ltr air pots with a 70/30 coco/perlite mix.
I feed daily to run off from about day 3 from sprout through veg........and twice a day in flower.

A plant in a coco/perlite mix cannot be over watered.........coco still holds 30% oxygen even when saturated........add perlite an the oxygen increases.
Unfortunately you started in large pots which is the only time over watering can be a possibility in coco.........maintaining the proper moisture levels will be a challenge until the roots are established.

I like cyco coco 70/30 mix when I run coco. I prefer my soil I make though.

My coco regimen is feed water feed water and I do cal mag every Friday my plants are healthy as can be

My Uncle used to work for CP rail and all the water they got was in cans, perhaps that would help. Some Train water?

Which is better? Train water or plane water? My bet is on plane water, since it goes higher. Then again, train water might take you off the rails.

That's right and plane water goes so high it loses O2 so not as good for roots. Now you know
