Coconut Water. Yup.

Hoy. Haven't posted in quite a bit for the season was over. But I figure I'll post some relevant stuff that I found with my indoor growings.

Now, I searched around the forums to see that I was not being redundant in my postings, and I found nothing on this topic that didn't get disregarded and thrown out, essentially. Minds aren't open. Or they just don't know. Or they just don't have the seeds to kill a plant (Zing!).

Anyway. My plants were suffering a rapid Phosphorus deficiency. I used seabird guano 10-10-2. I tried a little tea brew made from it for I knew it had to be quick. No dice.
So I'm drinking coconut water. Pondering. Then I pour some on...what the hell, these plants are for the sake of knowledge anyway. Buns to doing the same thing the same way all the time. Buns indeed.
Long story short, my plants recovered basically overnight.

Long story. Coconut water has an awesome amount of Phosphorus. Coconut water has sufficient amounts of Magnesium and Calcium. (CalMag anybody?) These are available in salt form. (Not the salt many of you are likely thinking of, but I'm on the Organic section, so you should be aware.) The amount of buildup is likely the same or much less than your average liquid fertilizer. Microbes aren't an issue, in my experience. (Do you see all sorts of funky shit around the base of Coconut trees? Nope. IN FACT...you usually see grass. Even in their most favored of habitat : desert island. Sandland. I imagine it even helps beneficial fungi. Now I'm not saying go gung-ho and water your plants with coconut water. I used a little bit. A tablespoon or two. Consider that not every coconut breaks and spills into the ground around it. So. Use it as needed for pretty much what I just explained. I really can't see anything more wrong with it than liquid ferts that are essentially just salts and molasses and all those sugary additives. Can you?

Oh. And you shouldn't use ones with concentrates or flavors or added sugars. Naked is a good brand, even though they are PepsiCo :/. Really I don't know. But it does apply to the ones you drink. You are closer to plants than you think.

Maybe I'm just full of shit.

I will try to get some pictorial experiments so we can see the results. I believe my soil is deficient, so hopefully I can soon torture some plants and fix 'em up again.
I do wish I could see the results in the benefits to soil fungi. Cause I really believe it could be true. But I'd have to take it to a lab. And I don't feel like doin that. So too bad.

'Till next time!

I actually posted on a few different websites about both coconut water and also the naked brand fruit smoothies and haven't found a dedicated answer yet either. But I use both of them with my organic feedings...

Haven't had any problems yet...matter of fact my last harvest using both, my buds were full of trichomes, very very tasty and super smooth...and for the high..unbelievable...

I use the Blue Machine Naked smoothie because it has tons of B vitamins which are benificial for the plants...

Also both are full of sugars which stimulate the microbs...

Coconut water contains tons of macro and micro nutrients, and even cytokins which are plant hormones...

Be very careful when adding coconut water....the ppm is over 2000ppm, it wouldnt even read on my hanna primo...

Well I'm certainly glad you've had a hand in this. I don't do hydro or liquid ferts, so a ppm meter is not in my arsenal. I assumed at least the phosphorus to be high on account of an 11.2 fl oz container having 650mg. But then again, I've never looked at what the mg per fl oz of other ferts are.
Anyway. Glad someone else did this. You've got seeds.

nice tip. how much should u add n wen? i just started growin sum pineapple express n afgan haze organilcly n was lookin for sum kinda fert to use. let me kno
I used a very inaccurate amount. A tablespoon to two for a SOLO cup. But as Icemud has us know, the ppm is very high, so take heed when dosing your plants. I imagine a teaspoon or so on a weekly or biweekly feeding may do wonders. However. I used it as a spot treatment for a phosphorus deficiency. Just once.

Bumping, because I am dealing with serious K deficiencies. I am in 3rd week of flowering. Anyone still doing this with any success? I'm thinking 2tbs/gal of organic, not from concentrate, coconut juice pH adjusted and added to my girls feeding schedule. Its either they slowly continue to brown, or maybe I can boost them back.
8fl oz has 470mg Potassium, 18mg Magnesium, 8g sugar, 10g carb.
Its a gamble I'm willing to take, and I will share my results here. :weed:

Banana peel ashes are 33% K and 3%P. Just burn banana peels over a fire, on a grill, or in an oven until they burn to ashes. Then just top dress the ashes onto the soil and water in. I do this all the time.

I've read about coconut water being beneficial for growing orchids, and orchids like an acidic soil as well, so I believe coconut water to be beneficial to Cannabis. I use an oz. per gallon of Aloe Vera juice in a soil drench almost every watering, so I'm betting and oz. per gallon would be a safe amount of coco water to use. I'll pick up some coco water and start using it this weekend on some Wonder Womans I'm about to flip and see how they do. I don't think it's going to give them a P boost though...

What's the benefit of aloe juice, they grow wild where im from?
Lot's of benefits of Aloe Vera juice for plants. The main things it provides for cannabis is that it is an organic surfactant. I use 2 oz per gallon for foliars and 1 oz per gallon for drenches. It's also got Saponins and a lot of other good stuff. It provides a lot of the same things for our plants as it does when we drink it ourselves. :]

coconut water is an extremely good plant nutrient as well as hormone base. It was the basis of early plant physiology experiments to clone carrots from carrot tuber cells. Lots of hormones in it suitable for young plant growth (its like the yolk in an egg to feed the fetus for an animal analogy).

However you probably want to get whole coconuts and harvest the water yourself. Some of the hormonal benefits may have been deactivated by modern food processing in bottled\canned coco water. This might be really good for cloning. Have to try that someday.

If you get a coco grinder you can also grind out fresh coconut milk and use it for cooking. yum spicy curries with coconut milk base.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have found this coconut water called Harmless Harvest and it is actually raw. They use high pressure cold bottling to get it that way. Their website talks all about it and they seem to be a good company with ethics. This is my new coconut water suplliment and I get it at whole foods.

I can't believe I've just liked a 4 year old post (the original post in this thread) and from what I can tell I'm the only person who's liked it.
What a post!!!!!!.............if it happened now with some other 'new' booster to be found that had benefits like aloe or coconut water, he'd be getting his cock sucked pmsl. How far does it go back, using coconut water/aloe etc? anyone know?
