Cold weather and fast flowering strains

When I searched for this information before writing this post, I found many threads on the topic, but found them all inconclusive and lacking any information. I want to know what strains are good for cold outdoor environments and also have a short flower period. I am not interested in autos.

Ultimately I am looking to gather some genetics and create a hybrid that can do well in a cold summer outdoors with a n extremely short season. Something that would survive in the north, with out needing assisted light manipulation, like forcing early dark cycle.

So far I am thinking that the genetics I should start with should obviously be 100% indica. Examples of strains I have been considering are, Hindu Kush, NL#5, Critical Plus, and Hash Plant.

Looking forward to hearing what rollitup has to say, thanks everyone!

Black Russian has a real short season but not sure how it handles temps. The Doctor by Greenhouse has been pretty good in cold weather for me and is a pretty fast finisher. Indoors it's ready in 8 but if you let it go another week or 2 it is much much better. My temps this winter never got above 70 when lights were on and dropped to under 50 when lights were off. I realize indoors isn't always a test for outdoors but the tent I had them in may as well been outside all winter. I have harvested the strain 3 times and the colder temps produced the best harvest in both weight and strength.

It's not my favorite strain but it has been a good producer and an easy grow. The genetics of The Doctor are pretty strong.

I guess what i mean by short flowering cycle I mean aroudn 6 weeks and when I mean cold, Im talking about temps getting around freezing at the end of the plants cycle. I live in a weird place and its pretty much impossible to do outdoors without autos, or a greeen house where you can create a blackout period with a tarp of some kind of curtain system.

From what I've read Iranian G13 might suit you. I haven't grown it though and can't confirm that it will finish as early as DrGreenthumb advertises. From threads that I've seen it may go into mid September:

Here's one more:

If you scroll down there is a moderator "Cres" that also represents Highrise seeds. The strain showcased is Bluebonic X Geurilla Gold#3 and it looks like a very early finisher. Highrise seeds can be found at http://www.rcmcollective.ca/

I was looking into this strain last year for an early finisher, but I happened to pick up an old DJ Short Blueberry clone that is done early enough for me. It seems that the earliest non autoflowering strains will finish around mid September; I have a hard time believing most breeders descriptions when they advertise otherwise.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I lived at 10,000ft for several years and tried like hell to grow something outdoors with no success. Just not enough light in the day for autos and too short of a season for photos. It was the late July/early August snow storms that usually killed my plants. Good luck. I would be very glad to see you succeed.
