colling system for 400 watt hps

Im getting a 400 watt hps from a friend of mine for about $80, just need to find a way to cool it down.

Im growing in a closet, got about 7-8 feet high, 5-6 feet caross and 3-4 feet wide of space.

I want to hang the hps from the roof or from the clothes line bar in their. I was going to keep the ballist on the top of the clothes line bar ( its like a shelf).

whats the easiest and cheapest way to do it?

its not cheap but getting a cooling reflector really helps. other than that keep your fans going.

I am using a 100 dollar hood and a 100 dollar fan.

I bought all this new, my first time out.

If i could do it again i could get all this for 100 or under off craigs list. Check under the farm and garden section. Do multiple searches for LIGHTS, HYDROPONIC, HYDROPONICS, GROWING, 215, MEDICAL, ETC.

I know what you mean, I was used to fluorescent tubes when I got a 600 watt HPS. I was thinking omg I've got THE SUN in my basement


Anyway, I think the air cooled reflector is your best bet too.

You definately need a way to vent out the heat produced and pump in fresh cooler air. Your best bet is to get a cool tube set up. That 400w is going to skyrocket that closet temp close to 100 degrees

I have my veg box in the closet as well, on the other side. Its a big walk in closet, only using half to flower.

I've seen the hps's before, their bright as fuck haha. I was just wondering the easiest way to do cool it down.

Air flow Kemo sabe, lots and lots of air flow.
