Colloidal Silver

So as many of you know i've been looking into breeding and seed making in general. I have a Super lemon haze mother plant from a friend from fem seeds that I really want to keep in seed form. I've been thinking and researching colloidal silver topical treatment. If it works so well why are there elite and exclusive "clone only" strains out there like Arcata Trainwreck and Blue Dream and the others CA hoards from the world? it would be simple to make massive amounts of feminized seed of these amazing strains if colloidal silver worked so effeciently to turn a female plant male (or partially if applied to specific branches). What do you guys think? I found some on Amazon the is 500ppm WAY more than supposedly needed to cause the transition, for like 15 bucks for an 8 oz bottle of it. i may give it a shot just to see if in fact it works.

Its a great question. I've been meaning to test it out. Even made my own CS with a 9v battery and some silver wire lol.

it must be noted that female seeds produced like this will only have half of the variety of genetic information available. meaning, using that female in a breeding scenario, there will be less chance of certain things being expressed

I think if people were to spread clones around fem-seed versions of these, people would get confused between the clone-only line that has all the genetic info or the fem-seed clone that has half of the info

It was a strain bred to be feminized. A stable genetic line (in this case a selfed stable line) should have all the genetics. Yes a hybrid that is feminized won't have the full diversity but should be an exact genetic replica of the plant which was selfed. So if you grow and veg a plant from seed and clone it,treat the clone with CS and use it to pollinate the mother there should be no genetic differences between the seed plant and the seeds that grow from it.

I think you should do it. I'll sacrifice a plant count number for the ability to create seeds for future use as well as preserving the genetic makeup. I want to do this on the Ace Of Spades cut by TGA Genetics gifted to me by CuriousDamon that I hold. This girl pumps out resin and is a hard hitting smoke. I'm ordering a pack to look for a male to hit this female with. Just hit it with a JTR male along with a Pandora's Box, Blueberry, Kali Mist, Chocalope, and Purple Heart.

My first thought of your idea was that you are using fem'ed seed and fem'ing that, and to me that would seem like a lot hermi traits being passed down. What do you think?

The CS causes stress which induces hermaphroditism it's not the genetics. This particular strain has never hermied on me in over a year so genetically it is not prone so the seeds should be free from hermaphroditism.
