As mentioned by others... just don't throw in 10k of lights and expect not to draw attention, however. Paying your bill or not...somebody will notice.
Plus some of us growers have learned that Solar Power is alive and well here in Colorado. Government cannot turn off the sun...yet.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm only expecting like a 50-60 dollar jump and have to start my veg before flower obviously. I just live in condo's so that is kind of a significant jump but the plus side is none of them have central cooling and everybody around me just started using window AC's so that kind of helps. While it is legal and so am I, I may not always be at my limit and just was just curious. Any more input or reference to anything like this thread would be great.

They should, first if they smell your grow they'll check your power bill, if that's higher than average I think they'll issue a warrant. a personal friend was just busted, the pigs have no way of telling who is a legal grower or not and quite frankly I don't think they care. The dude mentioned above did let his card expire and he was busted because of smell and a high power bill. They took all his product and left the plants. They cuffed him sat him down in his front yard while they went thru his shit and flashbanged him as he sat there cuffed, this is why they have earned the term "pig" from me, I usually never agreed with that term but sure as fuck do now. Don't think you're safe.

That's why i'm asking. Some people get way too comfortable with their medical reasoning and i do not live in a very forgiving region. I just hope that I am keeping it reasonable and doing it right. like i said, I'm' hitting it gradual so that might make a difference. who knows? lol

Really? cause I didn't know that the federal gov' was watching local energy uses to try to find growers.
We are in a medical state, if you want to find people to suck your dick over getting paranoid about energy uses go post in the toke and talk section or general growing. People here follow the laws and dont worry about it.

Keep in mind that every one uses a far different amount of power, hell my cpu alone is 175 watts or something, a 800 watt power unit, that alone will cover your grow. Now we get into fish tanks, water beds and big screen tvs, you can easily pull the amount of a decent sized grow, without growing anything. So comparing you with the neighbor is not as easy as it may seem. I would not stress over a slight power increase, and with having to veg first it will actually be a fairly gradual increase.
Smell is always #1 concern in a community building like you have, i would spend as much as you can afford in smell management, even doubling up (a carbon filter and a uv filter, or ona.).
