Colour or watts, Which is most important

Hi im planning a little CFL shindig and i was curious what was more important bulb colour of amount of watts ?

For example say i have 10 2700k and 10 6500k would it be better to use all the bulbs for more watts
or
just the correct bulbs for the growing stage ?


or of course the more confusing alternative to use 15 bulbs 10 of the appropriate and 5 of the other to make up watts ?

its a trivial question but its kept me puzzled for a while

What's up man!! I just started as well and have learned a ton of info from this site. Ok so I would use 10 6500 and 5 2700 like u said. I am mixin it as well an was told it was ok. Of course when u switch to the next stage which is flowering u will have to use only 2700 fo rthose. No 6500 after that point. Flowering won't start til about 45-60 days or something like that.

A good theory to live by is 40-60 watts per sq ft or 10,000 lumens. It really depends on your grow space. With the lights you've mentioned i would have to agree with Donp about the 10-6,500 and 5-2,700. once you've reached the height you want to flower loose the 6,500k and put all 2,700 on 12 on 12 off. Thx player!! I hav a small 4 pot setup with four 4ft flour 6500k and 2 42watt cfl 2700k. 1 has sprouted . Waiting for the other 3. Its so exciting!!! We shall see how it turns out. I'm buying a new laprtop in a week or so so ill start postin pics then
