wow. still can't wrap my head around this one. in my 4yrs of growing ive never been in such awe and amazement as i am right now. no joke.

I have a veg room i just set up. got a brand new bag of ocean forest from the hydro store 2 weeks ago (left unopened until i used it to plant beans) i planted 4 plants in 4 3gal pots.

I did this process carefully. I kept my beans and other pots of soil separate from this area to make sure i dont make mistakes... I would go get one pot and one bean and plant each one, move it to the veg room and move onto the next.

Today 3/4 plants had sprouted above soil. Before lights out in the veg room i noticed the pot with the original amnesia has TWO sprouts. yes TWO.

Its IMPOSSIBLE i mistakenly planted more than 1 bean in the pot as i only had 4 pots and 4 beans. i planted and labeled each one individually. SO i REALLY have NO idea how this is possible.

im sure which one is the amnesia (its the one thats sticking out of the soil more. its ahead of the little mystery sprout so i assume the other one germinated AFTER the OA did. im sure the oa is the big one as i always plant directly in the middle of the pot and the mystery one is halfway between the middle (where the oa is) and the edge of the pot. its pretty off center.

idk how or when this could have happened. it cant be a bean from me as i dont have more than 4 (and 4 pots to put them in).

pics included. one of the veg area and one of the thing that has had my head spinning trying to figure it out.

nope. that one came up this morning. so now i have 4 pots w/ 5 sprouts.


to the poster who posted 2 sprouts one seed: what if i dig it up to find it has a separate root system? my plan is to wait till it gets bigger (and stronger so i wont damage it by digging it up) and transplant it. if its connected to the original root system of the bean i planted then i'll assume its two sprouts one seed.

If its not then what? ill be shocked.

hmmm...my sprouts aren't as close as the one in the pic (in the link) but i guess we'll see.

this almost sounds like a story of how those "secret genetics" clones are made. lol i can only wish to be the guy to discover some awesome new strain *fingers crossed!*

UPDATE (w/ what i believe as proof):

Those plants look nothing like each other. I dug the other one up and replanted it by itself (ie. the "mystery sprout") i didnt do anything to either of them except give them their first (1/4) dose of veg nutes. they don't even look like they are from the same family lol.

How do I/you/we explain this if its actually not the same? could someone at the hydro shop have accidentally lost a bean in a bag of soil? or is there some awesomely nice person going about any putting mj seeds in bags of soil before they are purchased??

Im getting excited to see it as it flowers (not yet of course), smokes and how it compares to the OA.

Same thing just happened to me. I was germing some freebies I got from Attitude. The Critical+ seed from Dinafem
had 2 seperate seedlings growing from it. One full size, the other a runt. Planted them both anyway and the runt is
still have the size of the other plant. Bonus!

I have a theory. Do you have stoner friends that come over and hang out.


I do and i've had one of them stick a seed in one of my pots to see if it would grow.


Maybe someone you know threw a seed in there when you didnt notice.

Cool. do you have pics? im doing a freebie critical right now too. Mine is only maybe 2 weeks or so in flowering (im honestly not sure. going by trichs this time only)

how far along is yours? do any of the other sprouts look like the critical or something completely different because its my understanding if they are twins that they will look identical as it came from the same seed.

thats why i claim mine is truly a gift as no seed could have been planted in its place too and it doesn't look alike.

lol that was a gift from a friend. cool shit. id be happy if that happened to me. This im sure didnt happen to me. I never bring/have anyone at my grow op nor does anyone know I grow. At most they know I smoke. However all i do is smoke. I dont sell and I don't tell. Its the best policy to stay out of jail.

I just planted each seed individually with the help of my grow partner who helped manage the situation so seeds things like this couldn't happen (ie. not accidentally place 2 seeds in the same pot, etc). So im sure i didnt do it.

I was thinking it might be possible someone tossed/dropped a bean in the bag before selling it. I only let the bag sit for a few days (4-6 days) before using it. so im sure on that one.

kinda shoot yourself in the foot? if someone knows..and you said "no one knows" - who else knows?.. maybe you don't know who knows? Not the first time a "grow partner" has fucked with shit and not told the other partner either.

You need a seed to grow a plant.. they don't magically appear. There has to be an explaination, and it sounds like you aren't quite sure about things yourself...
whatever. You have 5 plants. good stuff.

When I was 13 or 14, we'd save up or bagseeds, go to a home improvement or department store that sells plants and pop the seeds down into the soil of plants that they were selling. Never went back to see if any of them started growing, but damn we got a kick out of it. Just imagine granny bringing home her new houseplant and a week or two later there's a dope plant growing out of it.

Maybe one of the workers at the factory threw some seeds in it during a lunch time smoke session?
