Coming out of retirement

Hey guys, so I just got my 5x5x80" tent setup in my garage. I just did a dry run with the air and lights on. I'm running 8" 780cfm inline fan w/speed controller attached to 8" scrubber. The tent sucks in pretty good at 1/3 to full speed. Now here is my problem; my garage is average 75°F, when I turned on my 630w Cmh dual bulb, my tent reached up to 92°F. Even with the fan on full speed the temp wouldn't drop. The light is raised as high as it can be and my scrubber is attached to the inside ceiling of the tent. Any suggestions on what I should do to drop the temp 10-15° lower? Thanks
I run a 600 watt HPS with a 400 CFM fan and 6" ducting. The inside temp of the tent stays just a couple degrees above the outside temp. I have three round bottom vents open and filtered plus I'm exhausting out of the room the tent is in. You probably need more air flow. How many vents are open and are you exhausting outside of the room you have the tent in?

Thank you everyone.
Ok, so I opened up 2 - 6" passive ports on the bottom and one up top, I also added 3 - 6" clip-on fans on the inside. 2 kiddie cornered from each other to circulate the air inside and one blowing on the cmh ballast towards the scrubber to push the heat towards it. I ran my exhaust line so it blows outside the garage. My running temp is now 88°F, 4° lower than before. Still not good enough, I think I'm going to try adding a 16" oscillating fan to see if that will help. The 630w CMH I'm using is adding 17-18° of heat, I was told they would only add 10° of heat to the room. Fall is coming and temps in my garage will drop pretty good. So I just need to figure something out to hold me over for about a month. :(:eyesmoke:

I added the 16" fan and I'm getting 1 degree less in temps, overall 12° hotter in my tent. If my garage is 77° my tent is 89°. My only idea I have left before having to by an AC unit is to run 6" ducting from my tent to the inside of my house to see if the cool air pulled will drop temps down.

Tonight is the night my setup will finally start up. 16 Animal Cookies ready roll. I will start a new thread for a grow journal/ diary tonight with pics of my setup and what nutrients I'm feeding. Thank you to everyone for all your help and advice. I felt lost and out of touch after all these years, but now I feel pretty confident jumping back into it. Happy Growing and smoking everyone.:bigjoint::peace::weed:

If you need a watering schedule I can send you over my schedule for your cubes they don’t take long to feed at all. In regards to your temps I got a portable ac used on offer up. I have 2 600w hps lights and it was about 104 in my tent this summer has been crazy hot in SoCal. Cost me $150 and has been worth every penny venting air in my garden

Hey Trenton, can you please send me you watering schedule. I'm 2 days into vegging and I've been watering 2 times for 2 minutes a day. 5 minutes after the lights turn on and half way during the 18/6 light period. I also ended up buying a portable ac on offer up yesterday and my room is staying a steady 81°F while the light is on, better than 92°+. I'm up in the Bay Area. Here's some pics of my Animal Cookie babys. I've started a grow journal also here on RIU.

Np. I’m not an expert but I’ve seen a lot better response by not saturating the block so much. I top feed btw. Watering for 2 mins is a waste of nutrients because you get run off fairly quickly unless you don’t mind and are in recirculating system (I run drain to waste). Generally after a few secs you get run off with the blocks.

I run a cheap timer (Nearpow brand $12 on Amazon, because I can do intervals under 1 min for cheaper than $70). I do 10 sec feeds with 2 stakes per block and 2gph Octabubblers so just over 102mls per feed. But I feed about 6-7 times throughout lights on cycle. Generally a couple hours apart.

Not much but the block is about 70% saturated before lights off @ about 10-15% run offthen the block dries it back to about 40% saturation by the time lights are back on again. Encouraging root growth. Keep the block a little less saturated in flower and it supposedly encourages bud production. I can’t say whether or not but I’m Tryin it this run. I just feel by hand.

I learned everything about these blocks on YouTube by “higrowgroup” now my grows are A LOT better with these. It’s all about that dryback.

Here’s a pic maybe a day or 2 after transplant and the ones under super hps are from last week Day 20. They’re always praying now...

Nice, they are looking good. I do recirculating top drip system, just easier for me with my back problems. How do you like those drip caps?

Ahh understandable well then I’d still try it the shorter drips and dryback and see how your plants respond. Just watch how they react and watch PH fluctuations. I had issues due to the heat of the room my res is in. I had that issue this summer and had to get a chiller since my ph kept rising from 5.7 to 7.0 in 12 hrs lol.

The drip caps are great and sturdy. Just kinda expensive for what they are lol. But they’re the best ones by far. I’m glad you decided on rockwool tho. Not many people growing with them all the way through flower that advertise how to use them correctly. Took me a few runs to dial it in correctly and I still don’t know it all

Here is that link btw. Very comprehensive and huge help
