Compost heaps or something

Okay so, I'm doing my first guerrilla grow this season, I started last season basically preparing for it. I started tossing veg and fruit scraps in a huge pale and making a compost heap. I was wondering what are some items I can add to bring down acidic levels of the compost. Thanks, I'm quite new to this so any information would be awesome.

I have to assume its not properly hydrated or being turned/aerated enough....
It has to be relatively acidic to do its thing. When you add it to your soil mix that's where lime ash biochar etc are incorporated

Sorry to be a pain, but it might be easier to just buy it in ...?
But where's the fun in that, Vostok....?
Learning how to do things,
becoming more and more self sufficient,
is how one feels a sense of achievement.

I grow in clay pebbles
but I'm still collecting all my old tea bags and veggie scraps
and making a compost heap.
Maybe next year i'll use it for some outdoor grows.

2015 is going to be the sunniest summer, in Northern England, since the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977
HOW DO I KNOW.....?
The rhythms of nature never lie.
A thousand old summers reverberate through space
and can be seen oscillating in a perfect pattern.
2002 V Bad
2015 V Good
2028 V Bad
2041 V Good.....

Random ass list I pulled off Google...but its apparent that your just throwing crap in a pile...you should read about composting and what to use for different nutes/micronutes and hormones etc, then read up on c/n ratios. It should be turned every other day and kept moist, it has to stay aerobic and you can't use it till its sufficiently broken down.....etc
Read up on it for a few days...actually the link I showed has alot about composting.. but far from complete

you tube has a lot of good info on composting and about every method you can think of. making your own is definitely superior to store bought any day.

lime will bring up the acidity lvl don't go over board with. also alfalfa pellets make a fine addition to any pile and will also it will act s a compost igniter to get things breaking down quicker.

remember to turn the pile every so often

As others have said, lime. What works without purchasing something is wood ash; either from a fireplace or firepit. You may also find it easier to tend to the compost pit if its in your yard and then just carry in the finished compost. That way you can water and turn the compost at your leisure and bring the black gold to your spot.

I actually do have it in my yard. Where I'm from we use wood stove for main heat source in the winter time. Some people are rich, I'm pot ash rich.

LOL leetron. I use wood on the really cold days and nights and add a few wood ashes to my horse manure heap.
