Compost pile of my own shit, use as fertalizer?

I don't know what is is about this thread but I suddenly feel the urge to go outside, have a smoke and take a shit. WTF is wrong with people!? LOL

human shit is a health hazard.even bear grylls wouldnt squeeze it above his face and drink the juice from it.

I think there is a strain actually called "shit" that would be a great combo. you could call in double shit or deuce. All kidding aside I would never do this myself as it seems to be a bit on the extreme, but shit from any animal would not be a healthy choice to ingest but plants seem to process the shit just fine. I am no pro but don't see why human feces would be any different than any other , I guess your diet could change things some. The reason I say this...I remember one time when I was a kid we had some tomato plants behind our house in Tennessee and the septic tank took a shit (broke) and the tomato plants fucking exploded in growth and had some ripe ass fruits no doubt. Needless to say we didn't eat any of them because we couldn't get past the idea. But like others said I would get some MG if money is an issue, using your own shit is a shitty idea.

i think you should bring the pile indoor and have it under a heat lamp to ferment then use it but only indoor grows. should make the home real pleasant

I got quite a laugh at the image of someone walking naked into the backyard smoking a cig and taking a dump in the corner by the fence. Just too funny.

But anyway I spent some time living in Korea and it was common place to fertilize the rice patties with human excrement. I'm not sure that means it is a good idea for growers, but its certainly not unheard of for agriculture.

i think it all depends what you put in your body .... i mean cow shit makes good fertilizer cuz they are grazers eating grass and hay and stuff like that .... where as humans eat all kinds of crap that have addictives and preservatives and all kinds of other stuff. and remember human fecal matter is void of any nutrient that the body cant use or doesnt need. and i would flush yer plants before harvesting, definately

I used to work at a hostel in mexico where we composted human waste. You need to use thermophylic (sp?) composting in order to properly compost your poop, which requires a huge amount of carbon and organic waste (we used 4' x 4' x 6' bins) and then cure it for a year or so. There is a great handbook on this http://humanurehandbook.com/ it will show you everything you need to do. I am a big fan of this as it is really putting what we take out of the soil back, but as for putting raw shit on your babies.... I wouldn't do that.
