This works great. Look for any DC adaptor (cell phone charger etc.) that reads 12V. Cut the end off and splice it and hook it up to your fan and if your fan spins the right way your done. Also, I use a PC fan controller, because that was I only need 1 DC input and the fan controller powers the 4 PC fans I got goin

you can use a cheap cpu supply to power the fan
Don't do this, power supplys are designed for a mobo to regulate them, eventually it will burnt out and I've heard horror stories of fires from power supplys. Use a 12V adapter, if you can't find one around the house, buy one at radio shack

Mine either spun when I had the power hooked up or not at all, apparently some others had the fan spin the wrong way, in which case, reverse the wires.

Hooking up the wires the wrong way is not going to make the fan spin in a different direction. It wont spin at all! you just have to figure what side of the fan is the air entrance and what side it exits, had a problem myself with that being its so low of air circulation, and I used a 4200rpm cpu fan.

My fan wires- blk and red
cell charger- blk and white

blk to blk, red to white, then wrap each one with elec tape.:peace:

can i connect 2 computer fans with 1 12 volt charger? or would i need to do it another way
i would say yes you can. befor mounting them wire them up. give them a test run befor mounting. if theyrun right then your good to go for mounting. run tests on them for 24 hours to see how they do check the charger make sure it dosen't get over heated.

I have done it a few times. The key thing in what you said was "I've heard"
