Pretty exciting day today. Now that the kiddo is getting older and school is getting more serious I have determined I need to build her a computer. At least that's how I reasoned with myself to get back to my hobby lol. And today with her input we have finally decided on her case.



I'm hoping this is a fun collective activity we can do together. I have structured it as a reward program. Where after a set number of chores or good behavior we purchase another component. We'll see how that goes though. I may not be able to help myself lol. Not the case I would have chose but that's apparently what 9 year old girls are into these days.

This is something I need for my vmware. Already have the Antec P100, Seasonic PS, 6 SSD, 2.5bg Nic, storage controller, wifi 6. Opting out of water cooling as shown in pic. Going with air cooling instead. It is a lights out network and storage server so I don't need the video cards either. Any graphics card will do.

Need to replace ATX mobo, ram, processor, fans.

Back in the day I always bought exclusively from Newegg. Their search was top notch. Still appears that way. That's where I bought this case from. I'll probably bounce between them and Amazon. I have a Best Buy card but they're pretty terrible pricewise on components.

Looks like the case I bought is actually the exact same one as in those pictures. I doubt we'll go that hard though lol. I'll probably get her a white led cpu fan to match the 2 already in the front of the case. And probably get one for the rear as well.


I have a lot of stuff just sitting around so this is going to be pretty frankenstein regardless lol.

Back in the day I always bought exclusively from Newegg. Their search was top notch. Still appears that way. That's where I bought this case from. I'll probably bounce between them and Amazon. I have a Best Buy card but they're pretty terrible pricewise on components.

You need at least a 386 to run Windows 95. I have an unopened OEM copy. Make me an offer.

It is, that case is full of potential. Some would water cool for overclocking though I think that is more of a geek add on than an experience enhancing feature.


I built a new pc from scratch with, and for, my oldest grandson.

Assembly was his part. Technical Support, Financing and Acquisitions was my role.

Yeah water cooling can definitely look real sweet but I'm not in a climate that really needs it. And water around all those components scares me to death lol. I can only trust cheap chinese plastic so much.

How pretty the rigs can be is dependent on the desire, creativity and personal skills of the PC enthusiast.

Vanity and bragging rights in one fell swoop.

Added expense and detail can produce an eye pleasing Water Cooled Computer.

I also know a guy that has a bears penis in a box and he is pleased to show it.

Last server I built I bought from Newegg too.

It runs in VirtualBox as well. But we're just emulating the requirements needed for the OS in a virtualized environment.
