hey everybody! fffinally saw some pre-flowers on 3 of 4 plants. the fourth one is about a week behind though. if i leave them in veg for 7 more days will that have adverse effects on the budding plants? should the lights be turned on 12/12 now to force flower the other one?
sincerely thanks to you.

Hey bro, it's up to you if you want to send the 4th one into 12/12, personally I'd let them get another week of veg but that's just me. Switching to 12/12 might speed the process up a bit.

it's ok for the buds to develop during veg then? they just barely have shown pistols right now. how long is too long to wait for the other plant / is there a problem in "over vegging?"
also, there isn't a separate veg/flower setup unfortunately. so if one goes they all go.
appreciate the assistance :)

youre fine. preflowers happen during veg, theyre a sign of the plant maturing. you can keep vegging with no issue, or you can throw them into flower. your choice.

in the future... google searches answer literally any question you will have about growing lol

that isnt buds forming, but its called preflowers and is normal. some people keep plants in veg for many years and take clones from them. they are called mother plants and i have heard of people keeping mothers for 20 years or more.

each plant will be different and will show preflowers at different times. along with preflowers you will see the branching start to alternate. i like to veg for about 6 or 7 weeks and they seem to respond to the 12/12 switch and start to flower faster than a plant that is say 3 weeks in veg. as far as overvegging i guess would depend on how big of a grow room you have. from the time you switch to 12/12 and they are finshed, the plants will double maybe triple in height depending on stain. i have a 6 1/2 foot ceiling and have had to tie plants over to keep them down lower but in turn it also gives more light to the length of the plant versus it growing straight up.

awesome! i'm so stoked now. it'll be a while before they go under 12/12 now that i know there's no harm to be done.

i use cfl's and fluorescent strip lights for about the first 3 to 4 weeks on 20/4 schedule then 400watt MH for the next 3 weeks on 18/6 schedule, then 2- 400w HPS on 12/12 schedule. after about 1 to 2 weeks on 12/12 i cut a couple of the lowest branches on each plant for clones and by the time they root and veg, round 1 is done and the clones go into the flower room. so i start 1 round of seeds, then round 2 is all clones for 2 grows a year. i usually end up with to many clones for my room so the extras get moved outside.
