i don't need to look it up...i've taken the classes..i've passed the tests...it is when flowering begins...no they don't have flowers but the process of flowering has begun...they are "in flowering" not veg when they are getting 12/12...the plant starts the change then.......dang*sigh*
yes, these chemical changes do occur. these chem changes are not the definition of flowering. look it up. the changes are what make the plants force themselves to mature faster, and force flower. but, they are not flowering until they put out flowers. they're just in the right condition to do so.

if you do it when the trichs tell you then you do it by a "guesstamate". thats NO science. shut the hell up until you learn what you are talking about. science has to with specifics and chemical levels are varying in every plant....yes but we are talking about when you start the count so you know when your buds are ripe...the count begins at 12/12 and ends at when the trichomes tell you it's ripe......at least this is how us oregon peeps do it, in the OMMP, growin medical grade cannabis...what would we know...no good cannabis from oregon...right.......
why not go by a specific factor that all cannabis plants can go by? FLOWERS!

it DOSENT. if your defination is true then cannabis never flowers because the outdoor light RARELY hits 12/12 even for ONE day out of the damn year.

they don't need 12/12 exactly but longer nights......12/12 just works for the majority of plants as different strains react different to different photo periods...12/12 is the happy medium we use indoors.......out doors the nights become longer and this starts the flowering..it happens at a different time of year depending on where you live...grab an almanac and you can see when the flowering cycle begins.....in your area...
and there is places on the planet that get 12/12 for more then one day...you really need to read more.....less online...more books from good authors..

show us how your chem levels interact with calyx development and how flower growth is related. i want numbers. when you get that, and you can prove (through mathematical science) that a two week old plant will finish at the same time as a two year old plant if flowered at the same time, and are the exact same stable strain. you do that, and i'll give you my next harvest.

what more can i say 12/12 or short days long nights...starts the flowering period....that's when the count begins.......you could even do 10/14 if you wanted......

no i said it's strain dependent......depending on what part of the globe they are from they react best to certain photo periods...12/12 is the happy medium that most plants respond to indoors........indoor and out door are totally different in more than one way...indoor plant's are also effected by light leaks..but outdoor plants never get complete darkness...it's 2 different games....
