Confused with lighting...

I am growing 2 easyryders in soil using cfl's. I'm not very happy with how things are going and when this grow is done i'm gonna switch to bubbleponics and a much better light. I'm thinking a 250w-400w hps would be perfect for me.

I wont be growing anymore than 4 autoflowering strains at a time. I'm growing in an old fridge for now..may try to build a cabinet as the fridge holds in heat too much.

Anyways to my question.
What is a fairly decent light setup that would work for 4 small plants? I'd prefer something with a heat shield / air cooled, etc to help keep my heat down. As cheap as i can get away with but still get decent yield/quality. Would like to use the same light fixture for both veg and flower..not even sure which bulbs to get when i'm not talking about cfls....

the fridge is 6ft tall, 20" deep, 27"wide.

i would go with the 250 mh/hps conversion kits! aircooled or cooltube would definitely be the best! you can find them for decent prices just google it.

T5 HO is a good tradeoff between heat and intensity, and significantly better than cfls.

Do you have ventilation holes bored out in your fridge? If you have proper ventilation set up, then get yourself either a 250 or a big T5 spread. I dont know if a big watt HID is a good idea for such a small space as a fridge... But yeah man, T5's will give you awesome results, and low to virtually no heat. Theyre awesome and can be used throughout the grow to the end.

But also dude, dont count out the CFLs. They can do some pretty amazing things themselves, and for dirt cheap too. Have you checked out the CFL growers section in the forums?? Talking to some of those guys could change your mind in a serious way...

Yeah i've got 2...4" intakes holes..passive...and 2 ...4" exhaust powered by 78cfm fans. the fridge is in the garage so for right now with the temps still getting fairly warm in there i've blowing cold air in with a window ac...not very stealth..but its ok for right now. With winter coming up soon heat wont be an issue really. If i build a cabinet i'll move it indoors most likely where it will be cooler.

I'm thinking that 250w cooltube would be plenty for no more than 4 of the small autoflowering plants at once...most likely on 2 at a time.
