Well, its official I have at least one female. The tallest plant turned out to be a male so Im removing him from the crop tonight. The shortest/bushiest plant is a female for sure; a lot of white hairs are coming out of all the nodes now..
The other, mid-sized plant I think is going to be a male but Im going to wait a few days and make sure before I pull him. So, Ill probably wind up with one female out of the three plant crop which is just fine.
I took a small cutting from the female and made a clone (put it in soil with 24 hour cfl lighting).
Ill change to the HPS bulb next weekend.

Yo, the grow is doing well. I pulled the second male so now just have one female plant in the planter. I switched to the HPS bulb and a few days after I removed the second male (untangled the root system), the female has really taken advantage of the extra space/resources. This strain is so resilient, she has expanded to the left of the room and grown another 5 inches in only a week and showing vigorous flowering growth. Little mini buds are popping up all over, almost at every node so she definitely has responded to the flowering nutes and the hps light. Ill prob stop updating this thread every week now cuz I think I have proven that you do NOT necessarily need premium genetics to grow a healthy plant and bud it - with the right environmental factors, it seems like any plant can grow well (hence the term 'WEED').
Ill post some more pics maybe halfway through budding then again at harvest.. Im definitely keeping this strain (made a clone and making that a mother) cuz its nice to have a resilient, strong and hardy plant available to get some bud off it to smoke if something bad happens to the main premium grow... Im starting a new white widow crop after christmas (Ill make a new journal for that) cuz Im down to the last few bong hits of my last white widow harvest and it IS the sh1t!!

Its the end of the ninth week and the plant is in its fourth week of flowering and doing quite nicely for a crappy bagseed plant. The top cola is really turning out to be nice and big and Im surprised so many branches are budding nice buds of their own.
Some of the old fan leaves became somwhat dry/crispy so I let the humidity get up to 45% or 50% at nights (35-40% for day) now.
More and more trichomes are appearing on the leaves and the bud is getting pretty dense; the plant is exactly three feet tall so this is going to be a significant harvest for just having this one plant.
The PowerGrower ECO does very well with only one plant in the system.
The clone is alright, still rooting in soil.
So I still cannot figure out what strain of weed this is but it looks like a decent strain; some sort of indica mix maybe... halfway through budding now so maybe in the next month when the hairs turn and the bud swells the type may become more apparent. If anyone has any ideas about the strain, please feel free to comment.

Just a quick update.. actually its the end of the 11th week of full life cycle and end of 6th week of flowering.. the buds are starting to swell and develop into the final stages .. I think it will be ready to harvest in about 2 weeks or so.. the main cola is huge and most of the buds have about 10% of the pistils that have turned color and the trichomes are still mostly clear but 2 out of every 10 are cloudy. The plant has shed all of the fan leaves and I also cut most of the dead/yellowing to promote bud development. For low quality bag seed I am surprised how well this plant turned out. I destroyed the clone though cuz I decided my next crop I wanted to go back to white widow to get some really high quality bud.
I am going to refresh the reservoir with one last nutrient solution mix
(2-2-3) and then keep thinning with regular distilled water. Then flush for a week to a week and a half and then harvest.
I quick dried a small popcorn bud and took a bong hit on it and it was surprisingly good. I got somewhat high. It was a very heady/happy/clear high cuz its so early still, but in 2-3 weeks, the trichomes should be 80% cloudy and 20% amber and I will harvest at that point, the high should be a very nice mix. It will be interesting to see how the high differs from when I smoked the original shwag from the bag-o-weed; which was a decent high anyways. Pics below. laterz

Well, the plant was cut down yesterday and the yield turned out to be great. The crystals finally turned to about 10% amber and the rest cloudy while almost all of the hairs turned reddish orange and the cola buds swelled large with a purple hue. The plant was cut at the base, the leaves were clipped off and the buds were manicured. I will hang it upsidedown for about a week and then cut the buds off the main stem and let dry for another week (then curing)..
It looks like good 'ol bag seed is just fine to grow if you want some pot. I smoked some of the finished product and it got me pretty damn high and it will only increase in potency as time goes on.. so.. I think that as long as one is willing to take the steps necessary to keep a proper growing environment, any 'ol strain should do fine (obviously the primo strains out there are better but).. if you just want some pot, throw some seed in a hydro setup and grow.. its easy as 1,2,smoke!
