The ridiculousness of the responses on this thread illustrate quite well the problems we have in this country. It's too easy to access information that fits "your" reality. To hide in your own little world of information that is neither unbiased, nor based in reality. I was recently called out when I stated that unemployment rates were higher under Regan's administration than the current one (which I DIDN'T vote for but don't condemn wholeheartedly based on what a few people say), I'd like to inform those folks that 33 states had higher unemployment rates (they were actually those states historical HIGH's) during the Regan administration. Most were during the first term I believe, and he was still re-elected. Unemployment alone doesn't spell doom for the current administration.

I like whomever it was that suggested sitting down and having actual, intellectually stimulating conversation, as opposed to holding onto talking points. Sorry to find a use for one myself (at least in this post), but there's just so much craziness being spouted out, that I had to throw out at least something that's rooted in reality.

You're right, and it goes both ways. Did you bring Reagan in this because he is a republican? Is this some kind of Obama's Democrat unemployment rate vs Reagans Republican unemployment rate? Keep playing that D&R back and forth game. It will never end, pure insanity. This insanity is so typical.

With the HC bill passing there have been many threats aimed at Dems that voted for the bill including harming them, harming their family members, vandalizing their offices. In once case the brother of a Congressman had the gas line cut at his home and had gas leaking inside.

Some political leaders on the right seem to be encouraging this type of "behavior." We've seen "dem hit lists" complete w/ crosshairs, way too many references to "picking up a gun" and only 1 Republican stand up and say it isnt right or acceptable.

I understand that many of you aren't happy about HC, but to me this is going to far and further marginalizing the Right.

Hmmmm, why did I bring up Reagan? Because I visited the Bureau of Labor and Statistics website and found that information. Simply illustrating that unemployment rates don't necessarily preclude a second term. Simply and observation there buddy.

Within the powers GRANTED to the Federal Government is no allowance for
a National Healthcare and certainly no authorization to make any person purchase something.

Very true and something that should be of concern to us all, especially us medical users. What happens to the argument that medical cannbis is cheaper than it's lab-concocted alternatives when health care becomes "affordable"? What if you don't subscribe to western medicine, does the fact that insurance companies don't agree with you mean you should be discrimintated against? Forced to pay for insurance that is against your beliefs?

Either way, I'm glad this is getting passed one way or another, I have more faith in this country than some Americans, and feel that the disagreement will only lead to further fine tuning of the most controversial parts of this issue.

In every other country that has universal healthcare, the attempt to abolish it would be political suicide. My guess? It will be the same here by the time CJ kicks the bucket. Too bad he won't be around to see it....

Sorry bub but it is republicans that are dividing the country, and they are doing it purposely. What we've witnessed the past 6 months has nothing to do with healthcare, it was and is about an attempt to make democrats fail. This bill could have been about curing cancer and we would be in the same situation as we are now. The only question now is whether the republican party survives this.

Actually you are both half right, half wrong, We are a "Democratic Republic". We are a Republic nation with Democratic states and republic states unionized. Dont be confused because these forms of government have absolutely nothing to do with the party lines. Democracy is all vote based power, centralized government whereas Republic focuses on smaller districts of governing ie. State,county, city, district, Zone... each having its own taxing revenue and powers to be. democracy works best with city-states, republic with empires(which we are) Neither of these systems have effect on Civil Liberties when there is a "Bill of Rights" that hasn't been used like toilet paper by both Parties. Think of the 2 parties as 2 serpents climbing up the same staff, constantly switching positions yet heading in the same direction. at least that was the goal first inspired at Yale in the 322 club(S&B's) 74 years ago.

The funny thing is , is that Medicine was to be the stick they climb(like the medical symbol) metaphorically and physically speaking, they would(and have) use/d medicine as many ways to both divide and conquer the "free public". drugs would be banned (after the alcohol sham failed) fear would be stirred new medicine would be created for new "conditions"(not disease, but rather a recognition and categorization of the normal human spectrum of personalities). The machine was turn-keyed when Nazi Germany was taken, the prizes were not all material, we learned that they had perfected modern psychology and many medicines to"correct it". everyone would be categorized. other issues would conflict with morality. Politically speaking they have succeeded today in 'divide' the conquer is what we are doomed to witness yet. how many people you know that are on Psych-Meds?? Human indifference is the first step to persuasion. Please Vote 3rd Party and get away from the Serpents lies.

whenever justice is denied by government, people will take the law into their own hands.
MOST of the US military are very conservative .MOST of law enforcement are conservative.
their is less than 7days food supply for the population of major citys in the grocery stores.
there are MILLIONS of miles of roads and rail roads power lines and water stations in this country that can not be guarded .
if you fucked over people the way our politicians fucked over the american people you would be worried too..you would want gun banning too.
