Considering bud washing

I keep reading how bud washing is such a great idea, and I am considering trying it, but i have some very nice buds this time around, so I just can't decide if it's to risky, or not. There's also opinions that aren't so favorable. And I can't really find any articles ver recent, so turning to you guys for real life experience to help me decide.

Unless there was some reason I was concerned. Maybe an outdoor round that had been hit with dust etc I wouldn’t wash my buds. Defiantly never for an indoor

I tried it on a couple outdoor plants and a lot of shit came off the buds. after the dry n cure I really don't see much difference in quality or potency. And they honestly don't look as sparkly as the non washed ones. :blsmoke:

I grow in a closet, and use a baby gate to keep cats out. But it's in the same room my wife, and I along with 3 cats live, so I'm sure they get a little cat fur on them which is why I was considering it. Along with skin, dust, etc. seems to make sense.

hey man. if you're going to be growing for a while i highly suggest you try washing for yourself. maybe wash half and dont wash the other half and compare the results

personally I wouldn't bother with washing if you're growing in indoors unless you have mildew or excessive dust present at some point during the grow all of which can be avoided easily indoors. animal fur is notorious for working its way deep inside of buds and i dont think a rinse is gonna get that out. its just not really feasible to keep the fur off the buds if theyre gonna share a space.

outdoor bud should be washed at harvest 100% of the time.

washing, done correctly, is not risky, and has no negative effects whatsoever. it won't remove potency, flavor, or smell. won't add to it either.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try it on some and see.

My tent is the cleanest area in my house lol. No need to wash. But I would seriously consider it for an outdoor batch. You've got bird shit, bug shit, rodent shit... Basically a lot of potential shit that could cause disease.
