Construction advice needed!

Greetings all, First time poster, long time viewer.

I've Been researching and gathering supplies to start my first small (3-6 plant) Hydroponic grow room. I've set up my own hydroponic system using a 20 Gal bin DWC system. I'm on a pretty small budget, but have access to lumber and tools. My only problem is that while i am good at building with instructions, i cannot seem to conjure up good enough plans for a grow box in the space that i have. Which seems ample. Is there anyone with the DIY know-how that can help/point me in the right direction to turn this section of my room (picture attached below) into a multi-chamber Grow space for Vegging flowering and cloning.

I have Lights and Mylar. The space also has a pre-installed vent, which i plan on putting an exhaust fan with a carbon filter. My goal is to to keep a constant supply of quality smoke for personal use while learning as much as i can about the plant and growing process itself. I just need help with creating a housing unit. It seems like a very fun, useful and time consuming endeavor.

Any help would be Greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Good grow tents are on Amazon for cheap. You will save the money in wood and it is portable so I would go with that. Peace

Thanks for the quick reply! I've looked into it. But i have access to free lumber/tools. I'm really trying to pick brains for designs fit to meet my area. Also, should i decide to buy a tent, would i need to buy 2? one for vegging one for flowering?

My recommendation would be, if you have access to free lumber and tools I would recommend you build a small box with some t5's in it (say 4') and have this be your veg box, using a 4" filter / fan combo you'd be fine on smell even though it might not be too bad during veg. You could do this for pretty cheap, and then have a tent for flowering. I'd recommend that if you have the funds / materials.

I'm kind of limited on funds and thats the only space i have. I'm also trying to keep it kind of stealth. Would it be possible/easier to grow multiple plants in one space throughout veg, and then switch out lights to 12/12 to flower until harvest. then just rinse repeat? I only smoke about an ounce or so a month. I'm trying to make it as cost efficient as possible. so if i buy one 4x4x4-ish tent, could it be possible to do it all in one?

Having a separate space for veg and flowering isn't required. You can veg and then flower in the same tent, just not both at the same time. You'd be fine with a tent as long as you have a good place to put it.

There are some sites that sell entire packages that include lights, reflectors, pots, etc as low as $400. Good luck!

You could just skip veg and go 12/12 from seed. there's an awesome thread on it here. guy is pulling ounces from plants

Look at the dementions of the tents, and build your grow rooms yourself to those sizes...

My veg room is 7' by 4' walk in 7 ' tall ceiling ... I have used exhaust fans from a bath room, $12.00 Lowes...
Frame it any way you want, no inspections...Just build a plywood hinged door... My Bud room is just 4'x4' with a 7' ceiling, reach in...
I use regular plastic shelve's to get plants close to lights...Vent in, vent out...
Have fun with it... Draw up your own plans, and improvise as you go...

Cheap construction is 4x1 frame (glue and screw joints, I used an air nailer) and rigid foam insulation with mylar on one side. 1 1/2 " thick is what I use. You can velcro thefront on. Use foam grade adhesive to stick sides on. Miter your cuts on frame so the sucker is square.

wow, I'm Glad i chose this forum to actually become a member of. You are all so helpful. I half expected to be bashed and trolled. Thank you all for your input, and i hope it keeps on coming! I'm Thinking that this tent is the one i'm going to buy. It will fit snug against the wall. and i can attach an exhaust fan to the duct on the side directly into the vent that is in the wall using a fitting i found at home depot. I'm excited! Do i have to buy regular inline duct fans? or can i just hook up my hot wired computer fans?
