hello. i know having the roots in the ground helps them tolerate warmer air temps due to the earth staying pretty cool and keeping the roots cool. also cooler water is directly related to dissolved oxygen content.
i have some in the ground but want to have some in containers as well. previously i just used white containers. but i am wondering if there are any tricks or ideas for keeping the soil temps down??
i usually grow hydro and am somewhat new to outdoor. i wanted to just put some plants directly into a hole in a bag of fox farm ocean forest but the bags seem to bake out in the sun.. is this because they are thinner? should i use a container? would watering like 1 min an hour help since the water is cool? being as the babies are just rooted they are doing better in small 4" containers than the soil bag.
thanks for any help, im just messing around in the backyard and am curious to container growing secrets.
