I'm a soil grower and i've never dealt with ph until today my recent grow in the flowering room the plants are all weird i tested ph today of my water and it was 8.0 so i was wondering if there are any threads about controlling ph in soil and water because the search function doesn't work

apparently it inhibits the roots to uptake essential nutrients. what is the appearance of the plant?

yeah i know i have a ph problem i just need a good faq on how to control it i think i have majorly hard water cuz i've been flushing for 3 waters now and the claw and necrotic lesions yellowing spotting and purpling are getting worse. Trying to correct with 8.0 water or more isn't working and i just found out it was 8.0 today so i'll keep scanning for good ph reads and post it here if i find one.

Ok this morning it was a watering day for about half the plants in flower. I gave them ph water at 6.3 after checking the run off avrg at about 8.1 some a little higher and some a little lower. One is mostly purple bcuz of cold temps her ph was 7.5 i also added a bit of molasses to the water. Do you guys think this is a ph problem i haven't fed them anything for two weeks and it got a lot worse over that time.

If you have a tds meter then i would keep flushing them with ph'ed water until meter reads low, like 300-400ppm.Then give them a mild feed 600-800ppm ph'ed to 6.3.Dont water after that until soil dries out a bit,you dont want to ad to the problem by overwatering.after that just follw a good shedule like feed, water, water, feed until problem seems corrected.hope that helps. also you might want to see if you can remove one plant from its container to make sure its not rootbound, just grb at lower stock close to soil and gentley pull and it should pot out soil and all.

I Use my tap water for my hydro set up and never seem to have a problem with it.My tap water ppm stays around 260-300ppm. But if you think its causing you problems you can try using Ionic Grow Hard Water and Ionic Bloom Hard Water nutes. They are designed for hardwater aplications so they take into consideration the minerals that are already present in your water

try using Ionic Hard Water nutes. They take into consideration all the minerals that are already present in your water. I use my tap water thats 260-300ppm and dont seem to have a problem but if you feel as though its giving you problems then try Ionic, or start luggin water bottles around

try to find a distilled reverse osmosis water machine around your neighborhood. theyre fairly common around groceries stores and what not.

fill up a 5 gal container if you have to.

im lucky enough to know a girl who has a PH water machine and can make water at whatever PH it needs to be (some organic life water crap or something).

flushing with tap water is really the easiest, most practical way to do it (bathub) so it makes it hard to control the PH.

like suggested earlier, its probably safe to flush with tap, let it dry out, then supplement with low PH waterings, 5-6.5 if possible, even in soil.

my PH readings in soil are at a mild to high 7.5, which is way too high, but im also using a really cheap 5$ PH meter. i constantly flush with lower PH water to assure the PH doesnt rise too high!
