Controlling plant height

I want to try growing some sativas that are supposed to get a bit tall in my tent. If I fim the plant during early veg, will that keep the overall height of the plant significantly lower, or will it just take longer to flower and still grow tall?

I would suggest tieing it down too since the fimming will only slow it down for a week, the tieing down will shorten and slow it down for a little longer. Your gonna want to wait a sec till you go to flower so you do not stress the plant to much before bud. I have bent branches over in flower that get close to the light during stretch and not seen any adverse effects so you could give that a try if it gets out of control.

Yup or you can do what I did and put it in a part of the tent with the least direct sunlight.
It stopped my sativas from growing wild, and now they are more tame.
My sativas are reaching 3-4ft when the rest are sitting at almost 2.
