Convincing my mom...

So me and my dad both get high, but my mom still thinks it is terrible, and freaks out about me getting high. I made her watch the union, but she still think weed is horrible for you. She has never even gotten high. How can I convince her that weed in not nearly as harmful as she thinks it is, and actually does more good for me than bad? I do not want to lie to her about me getting high.

Agree to disagree...it sounds like your mom just isn't ready to except the fact that her son is a "stoner"...too many Hollywood movies have made MJ smokers into a caricature of what society wants us to be...lazy, ignorant, space cadets.

Unfortunately due to all the hype and propaganda out there you're going to have a hard time convincing her. some people believe all the crap they hear abt it.....good luck.

Some people just stonewall certain ideas. She may never understand because she dosent want to. Sounds like she just wants somthing to bitch about, not somthing that's new to women.

Convince her through your actions, not your words.

Be responsible. If you're in school, get good grades. If you work, go to work every day. Prove to her that you can be a functioning member of society while still enjoying marijuana.

Nothing against your mom but more often then not, women are conditioned into believing all the garbage they see on TV - not all women but more often than not. No offense to the smart chicks on RIU :D

Now I'm going to have to "unlike" your post...
It is a cool post that I made, and yes everyone has to get off somehow, and for some the Elator helps, and for others it's just a fun device.
It was a relevant post as getting high is bad as I said and the elator is a great product that he might benefit from and his mom might be more comfortable buying him an elator than condoning him getting high.
I also think their is nothing wrong with the video as we all know youtube has strict rules prohibiting obscene or offencive material and video

people are set in their ways my mom is the exact same I have been trying to convince her for yrs she wont budge! My dad came around after a couple yrs and endless articles and documentaries watched he finally realized it wasnt bad and found it helped him relieve stress got him to vape with me was a very chill experience!

My moms the same way... If you don't wanna lie to her then tell her mom I respect your opinion but we all have opinions and make our own decision and my de is ion is to smoke and I'd appreciate it if you could accept it or atleast over look it... It's the safest thing on the planet... She isn't worried about that she's probably worried about you being to stoned to do shit or she's scared of you getting caught...
