Cool tube or hood?

Well I have a cooltube in my 4x4 tent, I'm about to switch to flower so I have to change the bulb. I have an extra air cooled hood I was wondering whether you think I should use the cool tube or switch to the hood? Everyone opinions welcome!!

Cooltubes IMO are the worst air cooled hood.

There are much better out there.

I used to use a BLOCKBUSTER 6" with a 600w.


Great hood. Cost me £225 though.

I used a cool tube in a 3*3 and within a few months went right back to my original setup. They come with their own set of unique issues like getting a pin whole leak and as a result the carbon filter was not doing its job correctly. Just my personal experiences though.

I bought the Cool Tube and I found that it isn't so good at reflecting the light towards the plant canopy... I'm going to make a stand and use it for vertical lighting :)

Yea I feel like they would be awesome for a vertical setup, I just feel like the hood would be a better choice the only thing is its 18"w x 23" long so it's not very big, I used it one grow them bought a massive hood that just barely fits in my grow box.

Cooltubes are harder to clean.. Dirty tubes less light. That said I use tubes..one hooded one batwing.

Really Seems to lower the temps when I switched over to a cool tube. the XL air cooled hood I had musta been leaking real bad because as soon as the cool tube was in my temps dropped by almost 10deg

I went from a cooltube to a square reflector. The temps stayed the same and the light is spread better.
