Cooler room at night

Should I keep my room at 28c day ant night to keep bud rot away....

I'm told that a 10c temp drop and night helps promote a dank smell....

I run at 26c at the moment.... 16c is too cold.

I wad thinking 28c day and 20c night woukd be good...

Keen to get thoughts...
Grow is led and medium is coco. Heater is a fan style heater.

I let my temperatures swing almost 10 degrees at night. I don’t think it hurts them, and as long as I keep daytime temps within range I haven’t had an issue.

I believe it also helps bring the colors out, but if your not a fan of purple maybe try for more constant temperatures.

If you want to help preserve dank smell, later in flower you can run abit lower temps overall to sacrifice some growth rate for quality.

"If your not a fan of purple" hahaha, I don't think Ive ever met anyone with that complex!

Oill, I think your on the right track, definitely want to have a 10 degree swing from on to off. So from 28c to 20c is quite alright. Will definitely bring out the purple (if that's your jam ;)).

True, but they do definitely degrade if it’s to hot. I gave a buddy my old hps and a couple seeds, dude grew em in a little closet with no ventilation and it was like smoking grass clippings. Went over to check things out and was like bro I told you, you need airflow and to turn on the damn ac(this was summer) fucking 85f ambient room temp, didn’t even need to turn the light on to tell him temps the issue. Wanted to argue about it like I don’t know electrics expensive, do indoor grows in the winter then. Good dude, stubborn and bad at following instructions though.

This turned into a stoned rant

That’s what I wanted to say but I was being in-articulate. Higher temps will increase metabolism, creating more terpenes overall. But these will degrade faster in the heat. So there’s a fine line here that We will find out in a few years hopefully.

Bugbee mentioned in the last few weeks of flower you can reduce the temp, preserving more terpenes, but ultimately reducing the plants ability to create terpenes. It’s a fine balance.

I keep it simple, if it’s uncomfortable for me the plants probably don’t like it much either. My tents stay high 70s low 80s, in the winter they’ll get down to the 60s during lights off but that’s not a huge deal and when I’m drying things are on the cooler side, all one room so I’ll have the ac at 65 and my tents will be in the low-mid 70s with lights on.

Oh wow written out it does seem like a bigger pain in the ass than it really is.

I have my windows open a crack to avoid humidity build up in my grow room. When the lights and exhaust fan go out...the very cold winter air gets in. It drops more than 10 degrees for sure.

Never had a problem letting my room get cold at night, and brings the colours out nicely.

Imo 20c is a good night time temp daytime temps 26.5/27c ambient.

When I started growing i didn't use a heater or dehumidifier and didn't have any troubles during the UK winter in the attic, i didn't see bud rot until i started using a heater, that could have been luck, pheno, bud density whatever idk.

I use magnesium sulphate during flower once a week aka Epsom salts.

Sulphur helps with terpenes.

a lot of nutrients don’t have enough Sulphur in them which is why it’s good practice to bump up the Sulphur during flowering.
