Hi, am new to this site and have recently startd my grow room. The room is just my closet (average size prob 1m by 1m and 6/7ft high) have a 250watt lamp in there and will soon be running a NFT system. Am only in the germination stage at present but i cant really leave the room with the door closed for long as it goes 90f+. As the closet is at the other side of my bedroom from the window i cant run an extractor or reversed as it to far. Anyone know how i can tackle this?! Any advice is welcome.

In order to cool the room, you'll need to extract the hot air out of the room. There are ways to do that. What's above the celing? Is there an attic up there? If so, I can tell you how to vent the room. If not ... good luck. *lol*

Yea theres ma attic up there but is this guna be a big job 2 fit one in and i dont really wana cut up my ceiling but am game if its a good idea so HIT ME lol. also need 2 ask this am lil paranoid but is there any chance of a fire hazard from my lights? the closet is obv plaster board walls but dont know much about fire hazards when growing. Again any help is aprieciatd.
Also just want to add that as it is a small room and am only growing 2/3 plants instead of installing an extractor system would id get away with just having a air cooler in the room and a fan instead. Surley this will do the same it will just cooler the existing air as aposed to bringing in cool air?!?

The celing is your best bet. As for fire hazard thats up to you. Secure your light well keep stuff away from it and youll be fine.

Haha bro, the window is the opposite wall from my closet, but with all that cold air coming in, it'll surely cool down your room including the closet. (trust me, it works damn well!!)

Use the CFLs for the seedling stage, it generates low heat and the white spectrum is a gentle touch of sunrise light for em. I haven't used them before, but I think the more light the better, during the veg stage, they'll love it.

The CFLs will work best for seeds/cuttings, MH works best for the veg stage (when they get a little bigger...probably when they hit 7 leaves) and the HPS is awesome for flowering (you'll need one of these, they don't get as hot as MH =D =D!!).

I hope my words can be of any help, good luck!!

As someone else mentioned - cooling the area is a simple task of taking the hot air out (at the top of the closet) and allowing cooler air in via vent holes at the bottom of the closet.

This is only a suggestion as I don't know your situation. Is there anyway you can take the door off the closet and replace it with something you can install a fan into and some vent holes?

You can't just shut the door on the closet and leave it anyway regardless of the heat build up - you need to replace the c02 rich air around the plants regularly by more c02 rich air otherwise they won't grow very well. So you need a method of replacing that c02 spent air around the plants as well as extracting the hot air so a fan of some form and venting is the only solution.

Yes it is Over Kill and the wrong spectrum to get them out of the ground and veged with the HPS (2100Kelvin-Warm light for Budding), check these out 26 Watt Compact Fluorescents Light Bulb they are cheap ($3.27) the right spectrum (6400Kelvin-Daylight for groth) and suffeciant for a few plants. Just use 1 per plant or two so, and keep it close, it is also sugested to use a Warm light as well during veg 1 per 3 plants or better.

Also dont go overkill on the floresents about 150-200W worth will be more than enough to start plants that will fit in your room. This is about 6 bulbs with 10,000 lumes total (Lumes-lights intinsity), your 250W HPS is about 26,000 lumes.
