a cool tube a reflector is normally used on hps/mh lamps with a fan and ducting to take heat away from the bulb to help keep temps down in your grow room

Sounds like a waste of time, and isn't worth the risk of something breaking, and then having a horrific problem on your hands. I'd rather just stick with the conventional methods. That's just me. I'm a pussy.

Wait, I thought this was the water cooled tube reflector. Sorry! You should probably buy something that isn't plastic.

not really a hassle if you want to get the most light into a smaller place i use one on a 600w in a 3ftx3ft space also helps me get the light closer to my plants so less wasted lumens

this is how i have my plastic fan set up with my HID lights

i have another question about cooltubes tho

anyone know what happens first if the fan stops working?

would the lamp blow? or would things just start to burn?

can imagine it gets hot very fast

no the light shouldnt blow if your fan stops you can use the lamps with out the cooltube in a normal reflector i think your temps would just rise thats why itshandy to havea spare fan i run my cooltube on a seperate fan to my filter
