Could extensive feed of molasses give harsh/bad taste?

First of all thanks for you replies guys. :D

I really dont like biobizz schedule, i stopped feeding grow so the plant be allowed to become nitrogen deficient in last 2 weeks. This could result to a smoother taste, i know too much nitrogen make smoke harsher.
Im gonna lower the dosage of bloom to 3ml/l, but what about molasses?
Should i stop ? Should i even flush when ambers show off?
I hope it didnt ruin my buds.
In my experience you only want to use molasses during the last 2 weeks and only 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of water/food. Anytime I used more than that I could taste it in the final product no matter how well I flushed them.

Why would you only use it in the last few weeks?

It seems like most here don't know what they are talking about on this thread from what I've seen.

Molasses should be used beginning about week 3 or when the buds begin to first form. It should be used(depending on nute system) at a rate of 2 tsp per gallon every other watering. By week 6 I'm at 1 TSP per gallon every other watering and the last week or two I use at 1 TBS every watering. I stop using all additives including molasses about 5-12 days before harvest. I do a single large flush then water only until chop.

I see some here saying 1 TBS is steep, only use for a few weeks, too much molasses blocks oxygen to roots. All not true. Wetdog touches on some truth in that too much is never a good thing. But people like blacksun, cannawizard and jackthebongripper(awesome name btw) mostly have it right.

If you are using cal-mag and/or grow in flower quit once you start using molasses, it has them all.

I concur for the most part.

I use it up to the last flush. Too much molasas taste will create a thick deep cloudy smoke when the green is burned and will also have a tinge of molasses not to mention it will stain your teeth (true story).

The key with molasses is the dose. If used properly it will enhance you plant's flavor and density x10 ... did I mention flavor : ) You must put just enough in to kick start the plants natural flavors / terpenes ... to much and the molasses will over power the plant. It's a fine balance.

I have found that one table spoon per gallon is enough starting from week 5 to finish. I only add a tea spoon 0-5.

Out of all my discoveries...blackstrap molasses has been the best yet...stellar results

Well put. I've been going a little lighter on the molasses but am stepping that shit up a bit now and will see how things turn out.

If i'm running a feed/feed/water schedule would you say 1tbsp per gal would be sufficient each feed?

I am kinda puzzled on the molasses thing too. I have heard stop using it close to the end and flush with water. Then I have heard others say they use it straight to the end, and have no negative results. I have heard it sweetens flavor, I have heard it harshens flavor. I hace heard the Magnese in it make bud burn poorly. GEEZ! So I am just using 1 tbsp to a gallon my last weeks. Now that I have watered 3 times with it, I'll cease and go with plain water till the end.

I see no REAL world value in using molasses any time, just like I see no REAL world value regarding yet another cannabis forum myth - flushing.

Gawd, if I had a buck for every time I've read the word "I heard".... "Hearsay", it's how forums roll.

While I greatly respect your opinon and deep knowledge of the plant....I have to humbly disagree. I ran side by side's, taste tests, smell tests...ect.

I turned this Molasses thing over again and again...it's one of the rare topics I will claim knowledge.

I have found that it...thicken / creates thick buds, makes final product taste better x10 bringing out plants terpens and many other benefits.

That being said there are differences in the type of molasses one can use. I have also found that to be one of the biggest issues. I tried the stuff at the hydro store until one day I stumbled upon this shit called Plantation http://www.ebay.com/itm/140890185664?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 on the bay. I kicked myself for spending that much...until I did a side by side. Wow...quality really does make a difference when it comes to molasses. That plantation blackstrap is the shhh

I was buying some stuff to thickin the buds and dense out the plant...until I found that Blackstrap. It dilutes pretty well so I ended up saving money.

again...just my 2 cents and experience. It makes a difference

Only mono sacharides can be absorbed through the roots.....about 45% of the sugar in molasses. The balance is left to feed soil biology and in my opinion is the biggest reason growers see an "improvement" when using it.......healthy soil web leads to secondary metebolic response which equals terpines, flavinoids resins etc. Secondary metabolic response is the key to "bloom boosting".

For those looking for natural bloom boosters check out chitin and the plant exudate chitinase..........good shit!

Peace

I have not used it for last 2 grows but will try it again. I thought that Plantation bottle looked familiar. I checked mine and it is Plantation. I got it at a health food store.

Yea bro...that is High grade shit. Which is why they sell it in health food stores and not hydro stores lol. Yea it cost a bit more but DAM that shit is quality and strong. Just be careful with dosage....to much will show Stellar results with the yeilds and density however it will make cured bud burn really thick and heavy which requires a longer cure...about a month longer. Don't get me wrong I still go heavy dosage on my med's but I have the extra time to cure it out. I like heavy doses of Plantation as it makes the natrual terpens "pop" for some serious taste and smell. I can tell which batch had more molasses by just popping the jar on cured meds = x's stronger smell

Good to know GK

but wft bro...I can't find that shhh on eBay lol. Read your post then was like "dam GK is dropin knowledge...I'm buyin some of that" lol.

Could not seem to find "chitin" or the other stuff on online. How is it used...must one grow organics or can we use it with our regular nutes like we do with http://www.ebay.com/itm/140890185664?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Plantation Blackstrap Molasses.

Ugh, the guy saying to follow bio-bizz feeding schedule religiously....

If you think a "professional company" know more about YOUR weed plant than you do, you're delusional.

Listen to the plants. (sorry for going offtopic)

I've used molasses and also gull berry honey and wildflower honey. more often i use honey than molasses I get sweet tasting and smelling buds that varies strain to strain, about 9 strains all together, and i use about 1 tbsp per gal weeks 2, 4, and 6 then flush plain ph balanced water last week to 10 days.

I just finished a test run using molasses on one of my 6 plants. They were vegged a little over 7 weeks. I fed molasses along with bloom nutes for 8 weeks. No difference on bud size or density. The only difference I noticed was, it turned my leaves yellow. I feed N up until week 7 of flower. None of my other plants were yellowing. As far as taste goes i'm doing a slow dry and cure so, i'll know in a few weeks. I won't be using it again.
