Could I get a recommendation for CFL's?

I am using HID 1000 watt lamps and I have 2 of 'em.

I was thinking about buying one of those flourescent 8 bulb lamps. Some claim amazing output.

I need 2 recommendations;

1. The CFL's will be used to veg established moms and to veg new moms.

2. I would like the brightest bank available.

Thanks:bigjoint:

Just buy anything over 23 watts and make sure they are nothing less than 5600K rating... some people like to do a 3 to 1 ratio of 5600K to 2700K, at least I do but in honesty you need the 5600K bulbs for veg since they have the right amount of blue lighting available in CFL form.

what you are describing are not compact fluorescents.
you are talking about fluorescent strip lights.
i use a 4 foot 6 bulb t5 to veg under.
it works great, but a metal halide is way better.

look for either sunleaves fluorescent lights or new wave lights.
use only t5 lights (not t8 or t12) as they emit more lumens.

Are these the "HO"?.. assuming that means high output.

You don't need a recommendation for CFLs, you can just go into any store and buy them =)

The poster above me is correct, what you're describing are NOT CFLs, but fluoro tubes which are different.

T5 HO (high output) fluoros are, in my experience and intensive reading, the best choice in fluoros for growing cannabis.

If you don't want to drop >$100 for a light fixture, the lights Illegal Smile posted (Sun blaze) do come in single strip light form for around $30 USD and these single strip lights can be "daisy chained" together to plug into a single outlet - so you can pick up one at a time if cost is prohibitive.
