What I meant in churchy terms was the Crucifixion was the advent of a new covenant with God. It opened up a whole new relationship and pact with God, and the ultimate defeat of sin and death. Before Jesus, everything was a bit more black and white and unforgiving. That's why they say Jesus died to save us, we actually have the option of saying 'Lord dude, I screwed up, help me out.' You noticed how the New Testament God is less about yelling and smiting and more love? I mean, he was Jesus' father but even God had to learn how to be a 'Daddy' (Hebrew, 'Abba')

As for stupid things like the beard, my thought is that as a creation of god, cutting the hair could have been seen as deforming oneself, or the body as god's 'temple' made in his image. The same way self harm is discouraged. I also suspect though that some of those laws were also down to cultural appropriation or custom rather than actually directly following god's word. Hey, the bible was written by humans and humans can be flawed and biased.

Yeah, I'm a christian. I just don't see why gay people feel the need to go parading, especially when it makes alot of people feel uncomfortable, it's inconsiderate.

Deviation is always going to upset someone, that's just the way it is.

I said I have a problem with the way christians treat gays. I then expressed my opinion of the more exhibitionistic gay types, but I said nothing malicious, so don't make it sound like you're going to lynch me or something for being a christian. 'We got another christian here' (or something like that) sounds more intimidating than anything I said about gay people. (well, the LGBT community) Things would be easier if people kept themselves to themselves when aporopriate, ne?

I really don't want to start fights, that's just my opinion and I tried to state it in way that no one would feel 'attacked' by or anything.

Man, its just annoying. Its one of my buttons and you probably have one too. I said this. Its the diversity and multicultural bullshit. Its one of the few things that pisses me off. And its not every day I see a bunch of gays runnin around lol, but if I go to California I see it a lot and its just nasty.. I don't get worked up when im driving down the road and see it either really because I'm too high and too busy laughing at how pathetic and feminine they are. No, I don't really think it's evil, but when you think about I suppose it is kind of disrepectful the way chop and poke and prod at our bodies for the sake of aestheticism- if you believe that you're a creation of God. But then again, if we did not at least trim hair, it splits and breaks- God wants us to have nice hair right? It's our 'crowning glory' and in Jeremiah God basically says 'Dudes, I just want what's best for you and you to have nice things, so just stick to the plan and we'll all be cool, ok?'

The LGBT community is a deviation from the 'normal' (reproductive, heterosexual) state of affairs. In this instance, the minority should not try and make society conform. I don't try and make my family or the church accept me as the special rainbow sparkle I am. I just get on with it and they are none the wiser.

The same way when I'm around elderly people I know are a bit iffy about black people I don't give the Martin Luther King speech but try to just act like any other person, being especially polite and showing who I am inside, which should shine beyond my skin color. Maybe it's because I'm well spoken that I win 'em over without having to whine about slavery and oppression. That's another thing I dislike- people pulling the 'OMG ur a racist card'. Also embarrassing and means no one takes you seriously.
