Could this be mold?!?!

I have 2 plants outdoors and they have some black buds on them. Not all of them are black but the middle buds where the main stalk is all the way up the side ones are fine but its on both my plants and iv never seen anything like it. I'm using mg soil and it stays wet like 24/7 even in 100degree weather the soil does not dry(don't use mg) so that's why I think it might be mold but its weird cuz the leaves are fine and green but the buds have black on them. Could this be mold?

bagseed clone and bubblegum kush from bulldog seeds. It's not like it rubs off or anything like mold should the color of the buds just are black. I don't wanna cut it down now cuz it only been flowering like 2-3 weeks and its still got another good month at least to go.

Guy thought mold. someone told him to look for caterpillars and BAM. he found some....

bud rot is quite common on outdoor plants with dense bud, but there's some stuff you can buy to prevent it

so caterpillar can make the buds turn black? Is there any problem with them to where they can't be cultivated and smoked? Cuz I do have like these little tiny brown hard looking caterpillars in the soil would they do it?
