could this work

i am a noob. obviously. also i am a poor S.O.A.B.

pot is expensive here so i thought id try to grow my own

im kind of experimenting right now with a hydro setup.

ok, because im so fuckin poor i do alot myself and find ways to make my own equipment if possible. (marijuana mcgyver).

i just want to know if its possible to grow using what i have made.

i built a 4x4x4 grow box.
i cut 6 holes in the top, and a hole for a cpu fan.
in the holes are 6x cpf bulbs 100 watts output each.
box is painted white, caulked, and sealed all around.
i got a tub from sam walton's place (wal-mart), cut 4 holes in it.
i dont want huge honking plant cups so i went to the local hydro store (1hour away) and got the smallest cups they have. diameter =1.5-2 inches.
i use coconut coir (im fuckin poor). but i know i need other substrate. (fungus)
i dont use pumps and what not i just let it sit in water with air stones (for saltwater protein skimmer ) (very small bubbles.)
and i read on the net of a way to make co2 with yeast and sugar, so i got a jug of that in there too.

suggestions:
i need nutes brand/type/ammount(ppm/gallon). any info is appreciated on the nutes im verrrryyy noob. but i try.

any help at all or feedback/upgrades i should/could make will be greatly appreciated.

pictures are cool to post up to help every one out, to let them see what your workin with instead of trying to imagine it. you trying to hide your grow? coulda made a cabinet; is smell an issue; how many plants do you plan on growing; not sure if 1.5 inch cups would be wide enough for supporting the tree to be up right by its self, you might have to brace the trees from tipping over once they get a certain size. work with what you got, but a nice light would be great... sometimes you just have to put money away instead of buyin some bud, put it towards your grow...

im not trying to hide anything. smell is not an issue. planning on like4-6 plants (yield will suck but its an experiment for now).
and the 1.5 inch cups i took the plant and put the plant in the verrryyyy bottom of the cup with the roots all spread out so that the stalk will have a lil support, and i will supply support as needed if needed.

as i said im a noob. i would post pictures if i didnt think u would all laugh at my shitty plants. i got 2 plants growing and flowered which is further than ive ever gotten before on previous attempts.
so im already better than ive ever been at growing lol. the problem is i really messed em up. i stunted their growth by lack of nutes. they were goin strong and i just didnt resupply nutes soon enough. so they stunted and got malformed leaves.
right now all the leaves are dying lol. sacrifice and start again is what im goin to do.

i was more interested in if my stuff will even grow plants at all really or is this a complete waste of time.

o ya fyi i spent about 75-100 dollars on my whole setup (i know it shows).

i dont work at wal-mart its just the only store around here really. u got ne thing constructive to add to this convo?

Bc has a starter pack of nutes at most hydro stores. It has everything you need for your first grow. I think it was thirty bucks. It sounds like you have the right idea so far. I promise I wont laugh at your grow but some jerk prob will, but screw em. It would help us, to help you, if you had pics. Good luck and happy growing!

I have a few clones in a buubler. It seems hard to keep the ph stable. I use mg liquid for nutes. You can get that at wall mart just start it at 1/4 mix. the bubbler works great for clones and its said you can grow all the way. look at the roots. see how the aredark and gooey thats bad the water may have been to warm. Good luck

You need to bring those light closer to your plants. Its best if they are adjustable. Or since it looks like they are attached to the top maybe you could just raise your tub. Idealy you want your lights within inches of your tops without burning them

yes those are reallly goooeeeyyy.
i measured my roots and plant. my tallest plant is 14 inches with roots longer than a yardstick.

i was going to switch to 5 gal. buckets when i get some to get closer to the light.

and just to be clear im good on everything except for the plants location relative to light?
it gets extremely bright in there when i shut the door(painted white also).i know that if they are to far away they stretch but these dont seem to stretch to much to complain or do anything about it.

One othe thing, you need a fan or some kinda ventilation

I think these roots stayed small because they were in flower when they went in the bubbler. also hadsome water problemsI had to work out.

dam nice setup i really like it looks nice and clean wish i had a big area like that to work with

ya today i added another fan in the door for intake the one u saw was outtake fan. also i have decided to setup a veg area seperate of my box so i can veg and flower at the same time. also getting 43 w cfl bulbs 2x for the box bringing my total wattage to over 700. i heard the 43 watt cfl's are red spectrum.

im germin a new round (round 2) from some homegrown dank they seeded on purpose.and some bubba kush and sweet. yummmmmmmmmmy.burn buds burn peace good growin to u all !!!!!
