Hey all i have a few questions. I have two girls growin right now, and on one of them the lop leaves are like curling upwards from middle, why would that be? I'm using a equivelent to 90wt cfl. Growth is great and new foliage is forming and growing like a beast every day!

the other for some reason just doesnt look good to me, some tips are becoming brown and the same thing goes for this plant some of the leaves are curling from the middle....Is it just me or does the second plant look unhealthy, it kind of pisses me off because I think it was unhealthy when I bought it from the clinic, but what can i do about it now. Im using fox farms ocean forest i measure ph i dont overwater and I gave them their first round of nutes 1/4 solution last watering, I will be watering the big one tomorrow as it is just sucking up water like crazy.
Weird thing is plant #2 was watered a day before the other one, #1 will be needing water sooner.

Plant 1 is first pic, plant 2 is second pic. Once again this is my first grow so go easy on me, I try my best to take care of my babies to the best of my abilities, and think i'm doing pretty good. Just got back from the smoke shop to grab some reverse osmosis water for the girls!

looks like a mag defeincy but never seen it this early in a grow, i normally have probs later on with it. you say you dont overwater but underwatering is just as bad., are you watering as they need it or just like 2 times a week. they will grow at different rates and may drink at different rates aswell. what nutes are you using?
the only other thing that i think it could be is humidity, are you measuring the humidity and giving them fresh air.
plants dont look so bad though so dont get down they will be fine!

I am using 20-20-20 Jacks classic all purpose, and i don't know the humidity but it is rather hot in my room, I have my fan blowing on them constantly so airflow is probably not the problem they are constantly being blown(haha) but seriously...And i've only watered once since i've had them and the soil is still moist about an inch down, the very top is telling me that it will proabably need to be watered tomorrow because its starting to loose the dark color & looking like dry soil...

Did you put the clones right in the Ocean forest soil?
It could be that the FF soil is to strong for the young plants/clones.. i killed a few clones by planting them in straight Ocean Forest soil..

20-20-20 fuck me, that would burn the tits off my plants at a sixteenth dose. when your growing weed your better off with nutrients that are specific for these plants. such as bio grow or the such. i tried an all purpose ferts before but then a light went on in my head that i wasnt actually growing tomatoes like i told everyone. that shit is strong. does it say on the bottle put one capful in a 50 gallon drum?
after seeing you fed that id say the plants have had a reaction to it. did it start having issues after you added the nutes.

OK, most important thing here is to quit watering your plants based on the finger dip. You should water them by the weight of the container, get accustomed to what they feel like dry and what they feel like after watering. The easiest way to overwater without realizing it is the finger dip. I'm not saying thats you're problem, you're plants dont look that bad imo. My leaves sometimes are reaching up like that when they first wake up, they're seeking light, are these morning pics by any chance?

Plenty of people on here use Jacks Classic, myself included. OP if you like the nutes you're using keep using them.

and you honestly dont think 20-20-20 is going to cause problems for a new grower, now answer honestly. im an ass and all but when people are new to growing and overdo the ferts this fert that he is using is strong. do you even think its a strong fertilizer, its a general purpose nute.
am i wrong?

I use barley any nutes at all its the lowest line, not even a half in tall about an inch wide of jacks classic...& I was researching which nutes to get & multiple people said Jacks was fine...BTW the plants started doing this about 4-5 days after i watered with nutes...

I just want to make it clear, how would they look, weigh, feel after & before watered...I just can't really tell that much of a difference yet still in my first 2 weeks, even though i've done tons of research...Thank you for the information i really appreciate it guys, but if you can tell me the difference in the plants by weight look & feel that would be wonderful! in with the pros out with the noob! =]

the finger technique is shit, froggy is right about that. give your plants a couple of days to dry out and then feel the weight of the pot, then when you water feel the weight, there will be a good difference as the soil soaks up the water./ u will get the hang of it, it comes with practise. froggy likes the jacks nutes but i think its too potent for a first time grower, your better off asking in the main section and see what sort of replies the guys give you. good luck with it anyway . youll have the hang of it in no time.

I'm aware its general purpose, I use it. No I don't think its too strong unless you mix it full strength. I started growing with Jacks Classic and Super Bloomer 15-30-15. Yes I had some minor issues in the beginning, but mostly that was due to overwatering. When I started listening to all the "experts" in this forum and spent hundreds of dollars buying a huge collection of nutes made just for my mj, thats when I burned the holy living shit out of my plants. I went straight back to my original choices and I get awesome results. There is such a thing as too complicated and some of those mj nute systems can be incredibly overwhelming to someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

ah! now i get it, yes i know there are lots of products in some of the ranges which is why after nearly killing my plants with mg ferts i switched to bio grow, bloom and top max. but i do agree with you in the fact that some of the nutes have too much in there range such as advanced nutrients, there line up would boggle anyones mind!
i didnt think you were a girl i thought you were just mexican!
